As always when it comes to big games, who controls the LOS largely determines the outcome. False start penalties can be drive killers and demoralizing for lineman. So yes, communication is essential. Need to take the crowd out of the game as soon as possible and that's with a quick, efficient start leading to a TD. Kirby will have the troops ready. We've been in these kind of hostile situations before. But will Beck be playing with a mostly clean pocket or running for his life much of the game? Will our running game be able to be, at least, effective enough? I expect a much better showing from our O-line after Kentucky. Will we dominate? Doubtful. We have rarely dominated the LOS against Bama. Will we compete and set the tone? I certainly hope so.

Which leads me to my next comment, because I was unable to post any comment on Jeff's article about where this game falls in rankings of the most important regular season game under Kirby…so I will my post two cents worth here:

It's not even that close. When it comes to regular season games, this BAMA game is #1.

    Why?

Bama has become, without a doubt and especially with the divisions gone, our biggest rival/nemesis over any other SEC team. And they have OWNED us and Kirby while under Saban. They kept us out of the playoffs last season and they have crushed our hopes so many times in crucial games, at the last minute, and surrounded by controversial calls. Now is the time to set the tone going forward in the DeBoer era. TN doesn't own the Dawgs by any means. When we destroyed them in 2022 they were just another overrated team that needed to be hog tied and brought back to reality. The Dawgs happily did that. We proved they just weren't near as good as people thought. We also proved how good we really were that season.

The Tide, however, is probably better this season than people have given them credit for…including me. SO, even though this may not be a must-win game Saturday, it is extremely important that we set the tone and at least execute well and give it our all on the field. If we lose because we played a better team after giving it our all out on the field, then there is nothing wrong with that. However, if we don't execute, play sloppy, have silly turnovers, lots of penalties, and generally shoot-ourselves-in-the-foot then we deserve the loss and the scrutiny that comes afterwards.

Right now, I really do not know how good this team is yet. I believe 100% in what Pollack said in that we have a bunch of very good players but not a lot of great…sorry, that's just what I see. Will that be enough?

    We'll find out Saturday.

WIll our collective be better than their QB/receivers? It can be done.

The last hurdle for CKS to be the King of SEC coaching is beating BAMA. Saban gone, now it's "is there a new sheriff in town kicking butts and taking names" in DeBoer or does the title righfully belong to CKS?

Lots of potential recruiting wins or losses on the line Saturday.

If BAMA wins presumably because of their running dual threat QB and we lose because of not having one(takes sacks at inopportune moments) then how does that bode for recruiting future QB's at UGA? Saturday and the rest of the season will prove what it takes these days to be the best in College Football,

BAMA almost won it all with MIlroe last year. MIchigan did win it all with their QB who while not the threat Miroe is running it was very mobile. And of course we win it two years straight with SB who could take off at an moment with his speed and burn you.

Lots of story lines to still be written.
