Is it even possible to have definite long-term plans for this or any other rivalry in the SEC until the SEC settles on its scheduling plans beyond next year? Leaving that aside, my personal preference would be staying in Jacksonville; it's one of the great traditions in college sports. My second choice would be a four-year rotation: Jacksonville - Atlanta - Gainesville - Athens.

    SAY NO TO TAMPA!

    Rotation: Athens, Gainesville, Athens, Gainesville…

The ONLY viable and fair option is HOME and HOME. Better for the fans, the recruiting, the season ticket holders, and the game itself.

Jacksonville is WAY overrated, and I have been to the game there many, many times. Take money out of the equation, and the decision is mute.

Should this game be extended in Jacksonville than I will be rooting for the inevitable merging of the BIG10, BIG12 and SEC. When that happens there will be no regular season games played off campus.

Everyone, please re-read this story and tell me if there was any news in it? Any true update? Connor said the Jacksonville mayor said the two schools had made serious strides in negotiations, but then he didn't have any quotes or anything from the mayor (or anyone) to back that up. No UF representative was quoted at all, or even mentioned and the lone UGA representative quoted — Kirby Smart — said he couldn't discuss the matter. So, what did this tell us other than there could "possibly" be some sort of announcement this week — but maybe not.

Disappointed that it will be extended and played in Jacksonville. It's just one less opportunity for an on campus showcase like what we saw for GA/Tx a couple weekends ago. Sure, Florida is mediocre these days but that will change and transform the rivalry back to what it once was at some point. As a season ticket holder, it decreases the value of season tickets every other year. It removes the economic impact to greater Athens/Clarke County - which is much larger than what UGA gets paid to play in Jax - and keeps it mostly in Florida. It hurts recruiting as well. Sorry to hear this news…..

If the idea is to keep it on a neutral field, then build a stadium in Savannah and make them have to travel farther than Georgia does.
Otherwise, I don’t see it moving out of Jax due to the money each team gets.
