Seems a dumb move. Who gives these kids advice? Best defense in the nation has accepted you, why mess with that?

    Tough loss…big lineman…UGA needs more big linemen…he is a 3, so maybe UGA can land a 4 or 5?

Very short sighted decision but for the Dawgs a blessing…..the B-ball stat is against less than equal competition…the first thing The Dawgs would do if he ever hit campus would be a sever weight lose program and agility work….he'd never make it.

First, UGA already has now 24 commits. How many can UGA take? How many non-Sr's will be leaving via the TP that opens 12/1 before the season is over? But that's another topic.

As for this recruit it could be $$$ or UGA's class size or now targeting other players (listed above by JS). My guess is that, because of his size/weight, this player was a developmental player that was going to take 3 years to be productive. In the past, UGA coaching has mandated that conditioning (and academic) goals be met before HS graduation in order to exercise a conditional scholarship offer. It seems doubtful that all the conditions required to attend UGA and join the UGA football program were met by this player. At 365 lbs his future is not on the UGA DL. His future is on someone's OL. UGA already set there.

Based on the anticipated losses of Stackhouse, TID, Brinson and TP losses, it can be expected that UGA will add 1 or 2 experienced DL to next year's team via the TP. Shively is a roadblock to doing that.

No surprise that Florida is on it… they love those thick DLs. In fact, at the same height, Desmond Watson has 100 lbs on Shivers. Go Dawgs!

I know that these kids are 17-18 years old but here is some advise for you now and in the future. A commitment is just that A COMMITMENT period so from now on when you decide to make one honor it. I don't know ya'lls upbringing but a mans word is his bond. These schools have put a lot of time and energy into offering you a space in their school and their program and are basing their roster on who commits to it. Same way with the schools, you had your chance to entice and offer a position to them and if they chooses someone else don't go dangling a carrot out there. This is the same thing with our country people are not being taught values anymore, so to those who are committed and those coming up in the future stay true to your word, don't make your commitment lightly and honor it. GO DAWGS
