Less challenging than an intra squad game, but a nice tune-up nonetheless. I'm telling you, if these guys can stay healthy and keep building chemistry, they could make some noise, even in the stout SEC, this year. Go Dawgs!

The fact that we aren’t ranked is a joke. This team could play with anyone

This team looks like it could make a run at an SEC championship!!

I'm fine with that for now. It'll motivate our talented and deep squad. (Very excited about Montgomery being added into that depth last night!)

There are three other unranked SEC teams with 10-1 records. We have a couple of good wins and our only loss is to No. 9 Marquette.

But the writers are probably hesitant to rank upstarts until they see how they perform against conference foes. So they follow the safe route by sticking with teams that were expected to be good or have a tradition of winning.

Over the course of the season, though, we shouldn't be penalized if our W-L in the SEC isn't spectacular. I mean, look at the SEC this year: Five of the top seven, eight of the top 25, plus four 10-1 teams that aren't even ranked.

The concentration of talent is real, and the schedule gets brutal with the new year. Our first five conference games are against ranked teams — including numbers, 1, 2 and 4!

If we come away with just one win out of those five, we ought to be ranked. But we probably would be over-penalized for losing the other four. 😒
