"IF UGA wins a championship it will be primarily because of the 3 weeks it had to get healthy and get GS ready."____Ugadad20
While I agree with 90% of your post.…I gotta disagree on your OSU/UGA take. IMO.…OSU & ORE are about equal. And, at the end of the season...one of em may have had a chance against the Dawgs, because of their road sxhedule, this year. Though.…#3 Texas failed to do it...twice! Lol
IMO...UGA is better coached with all the bells & whistles [minus Thorson & Beck]. On the type of team Kirby has built.…those 2 losses were managed, BEFORE they happened. While everybody is wringing their hands over the QB position, the UGA coaching staff is smiling.
They know, that UGA's Defense is key to winning, from here, on out. The Dawgs could beat Notre Dame, just running the ball. Although they won't have to, 'cause Gunner is just as effective a passer as Carson Beck. Only he does it with a dimension to his game Beck doesn't possess....."Mobility".
Personally....I think Gunner Stockton at QB makes UGA a better "Offensive Team". I don't think it'll matter though. You gotta score on the Dawgs to beat em. Lol
Go get em Big Red!!!
I WILL say this, though. More to your point....UGA's backup QB is now a big time question mark. That could come back to haunt em, should Stockton go down.
I'm not sure who Gunner's backup will be...but...I suspect Kirby may "try" to run the score up early, on ND, in order to get the #2 QB "some" game experience [former #3 QB].
IMO...Backup quarterback, is UGA's biggest weakness heading into rhe Bowls. Hopefully, they won't need him.
I have thought about UGA's chances should running QB GS get banged up or knocked out. I just haven't talked about it because it would most likely be game over. UGA must have GS at his best for every game coming up.
You have a short memory regarding the '24 Bulldogs. Which team are you gonna get? The team that beat TX twice? (is TX questionably good? Who have they beaten?) Or the team that was bullied by GT and let UMass(!) rush for over 250 yards? Seems like there have been more bad games from UGA this season than elite games.
Which OSU team are we gonna see the rest of the way? OSU has been up and down as well this year. But OSU looked very good vs a good but very depleted TN team. TN lost a lot of offensive production with their injuries. Iameleava is not Hendon Hooker. TN got jumped on and their mercenary culture does not cultivate the resiliency that we have seen cultivated from the UGA culture this season. Hopefully that was a one off exhibition by the OSU QB. He played well. Well above the other times I watched OSU play this season.
UGA better coached? Coulda fooled me this year. CB's underperformed (new coach). OL underperformed. ILB's underperformed. WR's underperformed (new coach). CBeck underperformed(no Buster Faulkner). I do expect the WR's to play better. They can't play much worse. WR's might actually get more separation when the play breaks down and GS scrambles. How will they perform then? Will he force the play as called? That is a big factor.
Will we see the whole UGA team FINALLY this season (sans Beck)? Like to see all the OL back 100% and see a healthy RRob running down hill behind them. I don't think he's 100%. May see BRob some. Healthy ETN, Frazier and CJones can play.
Mondon should be healthy. CJ and RWilson now have 2 full years of playing/starting. They gonna finally show up? JHall finally healthy/show up? CMiller healthy? DHarris and ERIV finally turn the corner? There are a lot of questions on this team.
OSU had numerous guys come back for this run at the championship. They have a mature team that added Downs and Judkins and experienced QB Howard. They're 3-4 deep with NFL 1st RD WR's. If OSU is on they will win it.
