Beck helped Georgia navigate what could be the toughest schedule in SEC history, easily one of the hardest, and he got his team to an SEC Championship. Beck is a DGD!

Best of luck in a full recovery and a great NFL career…

I really hate it for Beck. He is a 1st round qb who was surrounded by 5th round wrs if that. We should have won it all last year but Bobo called it too conservative in the first half of the seccg and then Sankey didn't politic at all for us. We got screwed by the committee.

This year we get the hardest schedule in Georgia football history and the drops were insane. Poorly run routes by guys who should be better, 2 crazy **** suspensions, injuries on the offensive line and still he leads us to 11 wins.

I really really hate it for him. He will always be remembered as a champion and a great teammate. Wish him well in the NFL where if you drop the ball or run the wrong routes you are not on the team for long. He will have better wrs and look great. His arm is first rate.

This was a hard year for Beck. I will remember him for 2023 when he showed his real talent, and I hope the NFL evaluates him based on last year too. Good luck to you Carson. You have done yourself and UGA proud.

    A DGD.

    2-0 against the Lizards.

    2-0 against the Bugs.

Loyal for staying and gutting it out (but he was also getting paid big 💰 in NIL) 🤷‍♂️, but it is a fact

Had a great first year but the injury bug bit his weapons a little too hard-but great showing in his 1 Bowl game appearance as a starter.

I hate to say it, but I think overall it will an “Incomplete”, IMO that I am entitled to, and here is why:

I think some will conclude that it was taken out of his control due to an injury, but to that, I say - Not so fast!

    1. He has one year of eligibility left
    2. He could rehab and come back in Summer camp, new weapons, and be on a way easy timeline, and prove himself for 2025 which includes improving QB draft stock to top 2 (again).
    3. It is not a secret his draft stock has plummeted from top two to 5th to 7th QB off the board on average-His Vegas odds for First round are +2800
    4. He will not be healed up enough to throw during the NFL COMBINE

I don’t necessarily want him to come back, but I think that him leaving now, he will go down 5+ years from this season as just another QB that played for our Dawgs. Nothing will really distinguish him from the Hutson Mason’s, Joe Cox’s, Grayson Lambert’s, or JT Daniels of our history.

And I know, because he said it last offseason, that he came back to do EXACTLY THAT-win a ‘ship.

Now that he has decided to go to the NFL, his record of accomplishments will be just behind Jake Fromm and Aaron Murray and David Greene and DJ Shockley, just to name a few more recent.

I figure he would want more than that, more than the 7th or 8th + QB to come out of Georgia.

    🤷‍♂️

To put Beck in the same category as Mason, Cox, Lambert & Daniels is lacking in talent evaluation.

    @Gibroni88

As everyone loves to point out, Carson Beck is a dropback passer, not a dual threat. This means he needs at least above average talent at 2 of the 3 ball handling positions - WR, TE and RB - to be effective. What evidence is there that UGA will be even average at those positions in 2025? Yes, the transfer portal will open up again after spring practice, but Kirby Smart has yet to demonstrate the willingness to land the types of impact players from the portal that Oregon, Ohio State, Bama and Texas do. So Beck would have to gamble his last year of eligibility on multiple true freshmen in this recruiting class having the sorts of big years that AJ Greene, Brock Bowers and Nick Chubb did. Sorry @Gibroni88 but Beck is better off entering the draft on leading the SEC in passing yards and completions in 2023 and leading it in TD passes in 2024. Which means that even if Beck had returned to college for his 6th season, he shouldn't have come to Athens. A team loaded with skill players that is losing their QB like Ohio State, Oregon or Miami would be much better for his draft stock.

A good fella, prolly read too many of his headlines

Not seemingly mobile enough for pros

As a fan, reading everything about dawgs...this feels sorta like when bennett replaced that other guy...see, I don't remember him now...Just like it'll be w beck.

OR...maybe wide receiver coaching was so bad it inherently dinged his last year bc of drops, which weren't his fault...

    Time'll tell

This is the right decision both for him and for us. Another year of College ball isn't going to help him. I'm sure he will be disappointed at his draft position compared to where he possibly could've even been drafted a year ago, but he will get some starter money and more importantly should get a real shot at starting and having a solid NFL career.

Keep in mind that College and NFL stats don't always correlate. Many of the all-time great Georgia QBs had not much of a career, but at the opposite site you can look at Stafford. He stats were certainly not record breaking and when he was drafted 1st by the Lions many fans chanted "overrated". He proved them wrong and will be one of the great NFL all times.

Best of luck Carson. You've been patient and while it may not have gone exactly the way you planned, I expect you will get to where you want to be.

24-3 as a starter following Bennett & one of the greatest runs by a QB & team in college history. Not to mention like this year the Dawgs were a tired & beat up team going into the SEC championship against Bama last year & still should have been included in the CFP. To win the SEC this year & get us back in the CFP after the schedule they played, Beck is 100% a DGD!! Here’s to him I having a long & fruitful NFL career.
