Hmmm….not sure if I agree with Kirby on this one. You can be a resilient bunch having to come from behind but still win the game. And you can definitely grow from that. In the games we lost, I can't say that the other team was better than the Dawgs, because they weren't. I'd much rather be beaten by a team that was simply better than lose to an inferior opponent due to mistakes, injuries, giving up big plays, and guys dropping passes.

Give me a sloppy win any day over a loss. Yes, playing on the road is tough in the SEC, but we'd better get used to it from now on. 7 of the Top 10 transfer portal teams for 2025 are in the SEC as of today. More parity, more competitive games, teams getting better.

We'll be as healthy as we have been all season on January 1st. Hoping we can put it all together with Gunner leading the charge. Not sure what to expect, but very excited to see what Kirby and company have come up with!

    GO DAWGS!!

Kirby has sure elevated the expectations of UGA football to heights that were only imagined in its fans wildest dreams previously (Speaking personally as a fan for 45+ years) so , it continues to seem silly to question the decision making and opinions of the man IMO.

But like he says, "Humility is a week away", huh?

Wow !! Really loved and enjoyed your comments !! Enjoyed hearing your personal history relating to the Dawgs. And you’re spot on about Coach Richt. He deserves Much credit !! There was a Big lapse in over all quality between Coach Vince D. and Richt. Winning the SECCG was indeed Huge back then.

And I don’t really understand Why but the powers that were didn’t support Richt nearly as much as they have and still do for Kirby. Now I say that being Extremely Grateful that UGA brought Kirby in ABD that they Fully support him. And we have become rather spoiled. Dawgs have only lost up to this point a total of 3 games over Two Full and Post seasons !! Back in the day we could only dream of such heights !! Back to back Nattys ?? No Way !!! And came really really close for a shot at a 3peat !!

So what should we take away from this ? ENJOY !! Enjoy the ride that the Dawgs are on !! And the thing is we have every reason in the world to be optimistic about 2025 and years going forward !! The Dawgs will have to fight their way to a shot at the Natty. No one’s gonna Give them anything. Past laurels don’t equate to instant entitlement, they will have to compete to elite standards to get there.

Here’s a sad but honest Truth for All of us as Dawgs fans, their not gonna win every single game they play every season. No Coach or Program has ever done that. But just look at the Dawgs Win/Loss record over the last five years, it is Remarkable !! Dawgs fans have every reason to be Proud Of These Dawgs and of Coach Smart and his staff. So Now, Go Dawgs Wupp On Them Irish !! Gooooo You Hairy Dawgs !!!

I don’t like and/or enjoy Any loss. But I could grudgingly accept the loss to Bama on the road. Allot of our players were greener than grass at that point, and yet the Dawgs came very close to pulling the fat out of the fire.

The only embarrassing loss was to Ole Miss. That game hurt really bad. But as much as I hate to credit him Lane had his guys ready. And again that game was also on the road.

Some might say what about our closer than comfortable Wins ?? In the end it doesn’t matter about close. In the official records it’s a Win. Just like coming “close” to pulling it off vs Bama, unfortunately that’s a loss. But as I’ve said before Only 3 losses at this point anyway, over Three Full and Post seasons !! That’s pretty dawg gone remarkable and pretty dawg gone Good in my book !!

As long as Kirby is HC and can continue the high level of recruiting Even with the greater level of parity our Dawgs will either win out right Nattys or be closely sniffing and close in the hunt Most years ( please note I didn’t say Every year as that’s just not realistic). Go Dawgs !!

IMO....I don't think they were "trying to lose". I think Kirby 'n Company were working on the little things that would help them win later. Specifically.…in the "Postseason" or Season 1-B. Depth, inside running attack, cross-training & situational football, are just a few things that come to mind.

Taking the loss was just incidental, but, a calculated loss. In other words acceptable and within the margins. Afterall, what good does it profit a man, to win all the battles, yet, lose the war.

We see that happen all the time. A team gets out to a blazing start...then, human nature & biology takes over....and they run out of gas and/or players by the time the postseason hits.

Somebody should do a study, on Kirby's Time and Resource Management program. Lol

The "outcome" of the Kirby method, so far, has resulted in an SEC Championship and 1st Round CFP BYE.....Highlighted by an unlikely second win, over what is supposedly, "the best Defense in CFB" led by one of the Country's top 5 QB's and offensive lines. And, they did it with QB #2, I might add.

What the Dawgs have accomplished, is no accident. It took a lot of brain power and elbow grease. And, a lot of people are about to observe "the outcome" of the dynamic duo's (Kirby & Bobo's) laboratory experiments.

Lol....they just "think" Saban was the King. Well...I say Kirby was the Power behind the Throne. Now...he owns it. Just watch what happens Wednesday night. Remember what happened in 2012, to the great Notre Dame, when Kirby's Alabama defense shut em down in the Natty.

Btw.…Bobo's Offense gave Kirby's defense all it could handle, that year, in the SECCG. UGA almost won it on a last minute drive, too.

    UGA.....…37.…..[4 TD'S & 3 FG's]

    ND......……6......[2 FG's or late TD]

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Dawgnation and other Hairy Hounds! Except for Irish Setters. Got no use for em. Lol

    Go Dawgs!!!!

They did not support Richt like they do Kirby because Kirby, ( and others), told the powers that were at the time that Kirby would not come to UGA without that level of support.
