Kirby Smart: How Georgia-Notre Dame Sugar Bowl figures to shake out
NEW ORLEANS — Kirby Smart didn’t pull any punches when it came to telling fans what to expect against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.

Assuming both teams are on their game, I expect this to be close with UGA pulling away in the 4th quarter. However, ND is a good team, so victory for the Dawgs is not assured. Winning the turnover battle could be key—get a few, and give up none and I think the Dawgs win going away. Also, while our D has been effective against the run, running QBs have been problematic during the last two seasons. Hoping our coaches have the right schemes ready to stifle that. Go Dawgs!
For me, Gunner gets a free pass this game. No matter how well or poorly he plays he is free from criticism. I have no idea what to expect from him.
However, guys dropping passes, the O-line not holding their own, the defense playing anything less than total havoc, giving up big plays, turnovers, silly penalties, giving up the edge, and poor tackling are all areas where we have fallen flat more than once this season. Not tomorrow though. No excuses, we're as healthy as we've been all season. Pull it together and Get the job done.
GO DAWGS!!
Our inability to contain on the edge and very poor tackling have just killed us several times this year. I hope these issues are resolved so we can keep the Irish in check.

Absolutely. If there is any criticism it applies directly to the coaching staff for limiting his snaps the past couple of seasons.
