I hate it but I guess I have to pull for the Longhorns. If only to shut Herbstreit and ESPN up

I'm not pulling for texas. I hope they get their behinds spanked by Ohio State! There are only a few teams in the SEC I can root for, and texas ain't one of them. I don't pull for teams just because they are from the SEC.

And our Dawgs played one brutal schedule this season. We saw how banged up they were all year. The brutality of that schedule finally caught up to us at the end. Those teams in the playoffs that didn't have to play as many physical teams as we did, are there for this very reason. This is why I've always been against adding more SEC games. Sure, we like seeing more top matchups on SEC schedules, but do we really want to add more wear and tear on our guys? Wear and tear that could potentially cost you by the time you're in the playoffs. If the Dawgs would've had texas' weak ass schedule, they'd still be in the playoffs. I truly believe this. Still proud of our guys! We're SEC champions and had a fine season. Nothing to be ashamed of.

    GO DAWGS!

    SCREW EVERYBODY ELSE! 😁

I’m with you. Bump Texas. They’re only barely an SEC team at this point, anyway. I hate to have to hope for the Irish to take it all, but since they knocked us off, there’s at least a small bit of satisfaction and legitimacy in knowing that we lost to the team that took it all the way.

Well, yes, there is more parity in the SEC now and around the league to a certain extent. I think that is a good thing, and what will differentiate the elite teams from the rest of the pack: COACHING & RECRUITING. Yes, recruiting is still super important in today's chaos. It builds a solid foundation.

Even with the #1 Transfer portal class last season and another Top 10 Transfer portal class now, Lane Kiffin and the Rebels still haven't managed to get over the hump and truly become one of the elite teams. Why? Their recruiting and coaching is still about average. You need all of the facets of building a team - including the portal now - to really become elite and stay there. Competition is tougher.

Concerning the playoffs, I think (hope) there will end up being a couple of changes next season:

    1. Re-seeding after the 1st Round
    2. More emphasis on SOS when it comes to ranking teams.

Right now, clearly Ohio State is playing its best football of the year and should take care of Texas (unless they revert back to playing like they did against Michigan). I do think Penn State and Notre Dame are better and more complete teams than they have been in many years. They both do have the ability to stack up to any team on the line of scrimmage which is key.

In today's college football world, the ability to go undefeated through the season, the playoffs, and win a Natty is a very hard task now.

Adding a 9th SEC game? Like Mike said - what is the point? Great for fans, but not so great for the teams. I will say this - playing Marshall, Austin Peay, and Charlotte next season is even more of a waste. Sure, the B1G plays 9 conference games, but we all know that overall the SEC is STILL tougher and more competitive than the B1G. The CFP rankings has (7) SEC teams in the Top 25 and the B1G has (5) teams.

The SEC has dominated the playoffs for years. One year like this one does not create a trend. (7) of the Top 10 2025 Recruiting teams are in the SEC. (7) of the Top 10 2025 Transfer Portal teams are in the SEC.
