6+ inches of snow in Pensacola....how about you?
Today was absolutely bonkers. Started snowing heavily about 10am and didn't stop till around 9pm. Coming in sideways it was so windy. I mean a true NW blizzard. I have snow banks in the yard probably 2 ft deep. I was having WAZZU flashbacks. Most snow ever in history for Pensacola. I'm sure every tropical plant in my yard is dead. The dog hated it. Landscapers are going to make a KILLING in the spring around here…
Reminded me of why I promised myself when I left Washington to never again live in a place that snows every year. The snow was cool for a couple of hours…now it just s-ucks.
Anyone else get a blizzard today?

yep I’m getting it right now. Started a thread much in the same heart earlier. Stay safe on the roads brother
I was living in Augusta, GA in 1973. Started snowing on a Friday afternoon and totaled 14 inches. City came to a screeching halt
weird stuff like this is gonna happen more often due to the polar jet stream erosion
7 inches Mississippi Gulf Coast this was about 2 pm yesterday
A friend of mine posted from Statesboro and their front yard is covered in snow pretty deep. I lived there about six years and never saw any winter precipitation except once when we had maybe a quarter inch of ice pellets total.
The news said the most snow Pensacola has ever seen was 3" back in 1895. Yesterday we got about 7". Crazy. And it's not going anywhere. It's 23 degrees this morning.
UPDATE - the news just reported we averaged 8.2".
And here in northern Ohio, we have had 4.8 inches total for the winter.
I'm on the west side of Pensacola and we had 9+ inches. It made for some amazing paddling. Second and third shots are from two trips to the same destination about 3 hrs apart.
Due east of you in Apalachicola and all we've got is a little frozen rain. Spent most of yesterday covering up tropical landscaping. Not very optimistic about some of them making it through tonights low of 23. Temps will be back in the high 60s next week so Ill find out by then.
I'm assuming everything in my yard is dead.
why do you think this freak weather thing happened? Super crazy!
Yep, at this point I'm more worried about frozen pipes than frigid plants.
Biden weather machine
I was there, too and it was so much fun since I was just a kid!
Don't know, but probably just coincidence. It gets cold here in the winter. The low temperatures right now are nothing new. We also get some pretty epic downpours from time to time. I think that the two just happened to collide at the same time in a freak coincidence.
