It seems like we are missing out on a lot of very good players that, at one time, we always got.
Kirby needs to talk to whomever it takes to make UGA's NIL pot sweeter. We just don't have time to develop high school talent like in the past; no team does. Most players aren't going to wait their turn to play anymore. If they aren't starting as a freshman, which should be a rare occurrence anyway, they'll just bounce into the **** portal to wherever the most money is being offered. I mean, c'mon y'all…Syracuse? Nebraska? North Carolina? USC?
Really?
Why would any blue-chipper choose to go play at places like that… where they have almost no chance of winning their conference title, much less a Natty?
The simple answer is that these kids don't care about winning a ring or a trophy anymore.
ALL they care about is how much money a school or a university collective is going to pay them.
UGA better get more serious about bidding for the top players that are in the portal, and they better be ready to pony up whatever is needed to sign the best and most talented players available, because it is becoming more and more apparent that competing for and even winning national championships just ain't enough now.
