Georgia football 5-star talent development will go a long way in shaping 2025 season

ATHENS — Most programs would be elated to have one 5-star prospect in every recruiting class.

(13) 5-stars still on the roster. Wow. That is a boatload of talent that needs to be harnessed immediately even if it's mostly green. These days you'd better have a process of developing that talent pretty quickly or you will certainly lose some of these guys.
We need to get these 4 and 5 star kids into the rotation faster than we have been. If we want to keep them in Athens, we have to get them more playing time.
"None of the four 5-stars signed in the 2022 recruiting class are on the roster and only three of the 13 players have started a game for Georgia to this point." Since CR didn't tell you who the '22 4 5*'s (Rivals) were (Journalism 101?), MJ Jr, Bear, Singletary, Humphrey. MJ Jr is now on his 3rd team. He looks like an extremely soft LB. Looks like Bear will also be on his 3rd team (after 3 HS's?). Sometimes it is better to get guys out of the program regardless of talent.
As for the 13 players that have started, '22 and '23 classes were the beginning of the quantity over quality approach to recruiting OL. UGA had highly ranked OL recruits from the Pittman and Luke eras that made it more difficult to recruit to the OL room after it was stocked with talent. UGA took extra OL with potential in hopes of developing them to the UGA standard. Jury is still out on this approach.
JHall flashed as a freshman injured as a soph. Injury prone? RWilson, fast but not very stout for an ILB. Gotta bring a bigger thump. JJA lower leg surgery? 100% recovery in '25? UGA counting on ERIV to be one of 3 CB's that play every down. All the other's listed need to take a big step up.
Still not seeing 6'5" 270 lb IGibson as an every down OLB. More of a DE (bigger than MWilliams?). On the other hand, CCole is about the same size as Nolan Smith was at the same age. Very athletic, converted from S after outgrowing the position would seem to be a natural at OLB. UGA can go 5 deep at ILB (CJ, RWilson, ZWalker, JWilliams, KJones) without CCole there.
UGA has a lot of young, inexperienced talent. Typically young players need time to physically develop to the point where they can play safely and compete. OSU and ND were both experienced, mature teams that made it to the CG.
As we have seen numerous times in the past 3 & 4 stars quite often outperform 5 stars. Some 3 & 4 star athletes would have graded out higher with better coaching in high school. Stetson Bennett was a two-star quarterback coming out of high school and he led UGA to two National Championships.
