Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

What you say is true but is also CKS's and UGA's identity. UGA hasn't tried to fool anybody. UGA says, "this is what we do, try and stop us". Then the intent is to wear opponents down in the 2nd half with a physical style few other teams can match. Of course having a cheat code (Bowers) for 3 years was kind of a crutch for the O that benefitted Monken more than Bobo (Bowers injured).
Has the improved explosiveness and proficiency of CFB offenses made that approach obsolete? IDK. We may find out this season based on whether UGA takes the same approach. Grind it out O may not score enough to beat high powered passing offenses of opponents.
Fans need to remember that Bobo's offensive game plan is an extension of CKS's philosophy on style of play. CKS is very risk averse. You may see some (needed) scheme wrinkles this year. But you need high level WR's , like AL had and OSU has, to make that kind of O work. And a 5* QB. UGA has recruited elite players on defense. Not so much on offense.
As for additions this spring from the TP, don't expect any for the OL (currently 18 players deep on the roster) or WR. You may actually see TP defections after spring practice in both the OL and WR rooms. Almost lost Nitro early this year. WR has Thomas, Branch, Bell (x2), Humphreys, Taylor (fr), Tuggle, Wiley(fr), Blackshear(fr), TWilliams (fr), Roldan (fr), Barbor (fr-slot), White, Speer and possibly Colbie Young. That's 14 players recruited by UGA fighting for playing time and targets. To bring anyone else into the group ahead of the logjam is to encourage players to leave. Same for the OL.
I've always contended that all Bobo needed was an alternate creative voice in the offensive game planning room….I'm holding on to hope that offensive analyst Ty Hatcher will be that voice!!!!
