Can't see Colbie staying with Thomas here unless we're going with matching bookends.

Great news! Dawgs should have their best WR group in years...maybe EVER. Now, if they can just catch the ball it would help...and hopefully have a QB that has the chops to accurately throw to them!

On one hand a clean slate and a new situation might be the best thing for Young. On the other hand, he knows the playbook. He knows the coaching staff. He is ingrained and comfortable in the program. He has worked w/GS longer than everyone but DBell(?). He has weathered his personal storm and been supported by UGA. He was expected to have a big role last year. With the injuries that come to the WR group every year, won't CYoung (or any healthy WR) be expected to have a significant role this year?

Considering what he went through last year and what he has worked through with the program, a transfer wouldn't surprise me. But staying with the program wouldn't be as surprising as some think.

Thomas is good, but so is Young. My question will be who is the best route runner/blocker. And Colby may be a tad faster than Thomas. With both on the field it could be like having 4 tight ends in the same play. Anyone think Bobo could design around them??

@Brooksie…Yes, can Bobo really put together a game plan that can effectively and efficiently use all the talent we will have between TEs, slots, and wideouts?

That may be the million dollar question with the best group of receivers that the Dawgs have had in years…hate to waste it, because if these guys are sitting around picking their noses and not being utilized then some will definitely transfer. That may happen anyway after Spring practice during the transfer window when they can kind of determine the pecking order and their placement in the field.

I asked this several months ago, but never received a response. Does anyone know if Colbie could receive a “hardship” for last season similar to a medical hardship? The fact that he missed 9 games due to criminal charges that were dropped makes me think he would have a case, but I don’t know the rules. Also, Colbie may not be interested in playing 2 more seasons and hopefully he will be good enough to declare for the NFL draft. Go Dawgs and good luck Colbie!!!

I'm all for Colnbie staying. Can't have too many long and physical WR's.

Conner posted an article about Searles and Bobo and that KIrby said he had the best coaching staff in the nation, He knew that would get a rise out of folks(clicks) but you cannot comment below! Isn't that just like the Forums puppet masters?

So, I'll post my comment about what Kirby had to say about the best staff in the nation here.

Woo-hoo! Down year in rushing(way down), and points scored, by 8 points a game. They just had some bad players(couldn't catch a cold(pass) or run block) and they had tough luck with injuries.

Well, they got rid of those "lousy ones" on offense, they're off to the NFL. All 7 of them!

    No excuses in 2025!

You make an interesting point Brooksie….I can't see Colbie turning his back on the Dawgs since we've stood beside him through this whole ordeal and Thomas came here knowing Colbie was here….I share your dream….essentially 4 TE's, 2 with speed 2 crossing in the middle/or short….I believe Bobo can come up with plays to give defenses enough azz-burn to melt a porcelain thrown.
