Don't know what to expect after a layoff, but I hope it's good. Mitchell Parker is going for the Nats. He has an ERA of over 9 for his last three games. Hope he continues in that vein tonight.
Good idea to temper expectations. I don't have any lofty ones for him for the first couple of weeks. Maybe he'll surprise me. Tough one tonight - Pivetta on the hill for the Padres. He's having a real good season so far. I don't see the Bravos scoring all that much. I hope Sale can deal tonight. On the bright side, Olson seems to be heating up. Hope that continues.
Welcome back Ronald!
Wasted effort by Sale. Too many RISP left stranded. Still had a great chance in the 9th, at least to tie, but E white commits a base running error, and we are left losing another 1 run game. Iglesias gives up a HR in the top of the 9th. Don't know what's wrong with him, but we might need to go in another direction. Very disappointing.
Great to see Ronald homer on the first pitch of the game - a 467 ft bomb and 116.mph!! Welcome back, indeed.
Atlanta Braves 50 ways to lose a game!
Snitker knows them all.
I don't recall anyone being so critical of Snit when they won a World Series.
The only thing I can think of is that was the first stop sign Eli White has ever seen when he gets a good jump from second on a single. It freaked him out so bad he thought it must have been caught.
might well have been. Snit said, even if the ball had been caught, there was no way he would have beaten the throw, back to 2nd base. Eli has been great. I know he feels awful about this.
Nice Bounce back win by Bravos. Another Ronald HR and a fine pitching performance by Grant Holmes - went 7 and only gave up one walk and six hits - he's really blossoming. I think Ozzie has benefitted from having his buddy back - he's gotten several hits since Ronald re-entered the lineup. Kudos to Olson who is also heating up and that amazing rookie, Drake Baldwin, who had 3 more hits.
Hope Ronald is the spark that ignites the offense!
This team is just destined for hard luck. Today's loss 5-4 to the Phil's no different. 13 hits and five walks good for just four runs. It included two runners caught stealing and a called third strike with the bases loaded to end the game.
Three walks and a hit in the ninth and no runs to show for it. Who does that?
Look up "struggling" in Webster's and you'll see a team photo of the Bravos. To their credit they are hitting well against a good pitching staff and also lead 6-0 in the nightcap. Hope they can hold on for the win. I'm getting a good vibe about the hitting coming around and I think they be OK soon.
8-0 now. Looks like we'll salvage a win in the 3-game series. That's a relief.
Nice but the bullpen is messing with my confidence. Dang.
