Schumann will be coaching for a HBC position next year. His next step will be decided on how this year's defense develops, jells and becomes the force that all this potential hints it can be. I wish him success even if we do lose him next year. If he succeeds it will be because the Dawgs succeeded…win-win.
Kirby has tons of top players at top positions on D. He's not having another year with a porous run defense, and secondary and linebackers are top knotch. The defense gave Stetson field position every week, and that was a BIG contributor to his success. I believe Stockton will benefit from the same type of good field position in 2025. Win the first four and it's looking real good.

Yes, we had three DLs drafted off of last years team. They were good players, but they were not great players. The run defense was less than stellar. It’s possible, maybe even probable, that this year’s starting DL will be better than merely good. I don’t see a drop off on the DL. I think the DL will be better this year. Of course, we’ll just have to wait and see. Plus, injuries are always a factor.
