- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Also worth noting that Bell got in on the drops last season - and in the playoff game vs ND, dropped a 48 yard pass from Gunner that hit him in the bellybutton. I obviously hope he gets his confidence back, and has a great, and productive season.
Go Dawgs!
Explosive plays happen with more regularitywhen the O-line can give the Qb that extra second to look downfiel and when the running back has a decent crease to get to the next level. Go back and watch the ganes from last season and CBhad to get the ball out quick! RB's getting met behind the line of scrimmage! Watch allof these 4 and 5star Rb's in highschool on the tape Sentel provides. On most of their big gains or TD's they run untouched through the line. All of that changes in the SEC.
I've said this repeatedly, the most important thing for the Dawg's offense is to create explosive plays especially in the run game. That means the offensive line has to be better and give the RBs room to get to the second level. This will open up the play action pass and create opportunities for explosives in the passing game. While fans are always complaining about play calling, every play is called to be successful if executed properly. That execution starts with blocking and then the QB and RBs have to make the correct reads. We will know a lot about this team after their first two games: can they run the ball and can they stop the run.

People are blaming the offensive line and playcalling when the real problem is the personnel. In 2024 there was no Brock Bowers, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, George Pickens, Ladd McConkey, D'Andre Swift or James Cook, all day one NFL starters. There weren't even any Javon Wims, AD Mitchells, Jermaine Burtons, Kenny McIntoshes, Kendall Miltons, Mecole Hardmans, Riley Ridleys or Darnell Washingtons. Yes, UGA didn't have future NFL starters at OT in 2024 that they had in previous seasons. The Florida and Auburn teams that won the 2006, 2008 and 2010 titles didn't either. They had a bunch of guys who started a ton of NFL games running and catching the ball that UGA didn't have in 2024.
Despite the common conviction otherwise, no you can't overcome guys who don't have the strength, size, speed, quickness and change of direction to separate from defenses and make plays on the ball with playcalling and schemes because top 10 teams not only have the playcalling and schemes that are just as good but the future NFL difference makers on defense that you lack on offense. And if you don't have difference makers at WR, RB and TE those defenses are just going to put their great athletes at safety in the box. That's what Notre Dame did with Xavier Watts (3rd round, Falcons) and Texas with Andrew Mukuba (2nd round, Eagles). How did Arian Smith, Dom Lovett, Dillon Bell, Lawson Luckie and Oscar Delp respond with the middle of the field open and single coverage on the outside? By leading the nation in drops and all but Smith and Luckie having under 12 yards per catch (Bell and Lovett didn't even get 11 yards per catch). And the tailbacks didn't get either 700 yards or surpass 5 yards per carry despite the interior OL, "between the tackles", being the strength of the team.
I am very much hoping that Gaston can get going in fall camp and not look back at LT. Greene should be fine at RT, and I think with Calhoun and Morris on the inside the OL should be improved. If Stockton has to play behind Freeling I am not very optimistic.
