The fact of the matter is that the DAWGS 2025 edition is 2-3 deep at every position with potential postseason All Americans….now that we have a focused leadership in Gunner Stockton/Ryan Puglise all that remains is to play our schedule one team at a time, one win at a time and allow "The Cream" to rise…..present accolades matter not, it's the ones that come in the postseason that makes all fraiche!

@GtheGreek Very true ,…. interesting to note UGA is picked to play in SEC title game even with so few preseason stars

As opposed to last year when we had a bunch of players on the first team. For whatever the reason, UGA does much better when underrated. In '21, the SEC media picked Jordan Davis alone as an all SEC first teamer (among O and D teams). They picked about half the Alabama team to be all SEC. That Dawg team was absolutely loaded with high draft picks. This is actually a good sign imo.

I’d always rather have them ranked on the postseason list than the preseason list.

"That’s left the returning team somewhat short on star power, hence, only one first-team preseason All-American pick — and at punter, at that."____DN

Like I said before...."Either ya know…or you don't know.". Lol

GEORGIA!....There is no substitute. You want a "Star"? Just go down the roster. Most of those guys will be playing professional ball, in a couple of years.

Normally, I don't get twisted about these lists that conspicuously never include the guys WE ALL KNOW, will be among the top 2 or 3 position players in the nation.

But....This list is supposed to project...not reward. If you are "projecting"....Then, why aren't you "projecting" some of the Dawgs WR's, DB's or LB's. We'll see how wrong they are....once again...at themid-season point.

The "Media's" "prognostication and analysis" accuracy is about as reliable as a broken clock....cause it's not data or fact based and doesn't employ real time data.

Lol...like Mike said…It's just another Yankee's hyperbole. If you believed them....all us Southerners talk like Li'l Abner, think like Elmer Fudd and dress like Ma & PA Kettle.

I think you put your finger on the difference between '23-'24 & '25....."Focused Leadership of Gunner Stockton". I honestly believe in that kid. The more I dig...the more I like.

Thinking back....maybe it's just me, but last year didn't seem right, from the first kickoff. I wonder if the NIL thing, with Beck didn't have some negative impact in team cohesiveness.

Guys having to defend their quarterback's decision to buy a Fararri (or whatever) in the offseason was probably a little disruptive and a distraction from the get-go. Just a lot of negativity around last season.

I think Beck handled going from Nottie to Hottie, very poorly. Maybe a fresh start in Miami will ground him, again.

IMO....Poor leadership, is certainly a valid consideration for last year's seemingly lackluster Season. Despite the great, insprired wins vs Texas. Those were emotion wins on a big stage.

You can't rely on that kind of emotion to win, every week. Sometimes....you just have to be professional, and do your job.

That...imo....is where Beck fell short. He failed to elevate anybody's game…including his own. Otherwise...HE would've found a solution to the dropped catches and bad routes.....and, QB pressures and sacks.

All of that is, in part, his responsibility. Think of the QB as Jim on Mission Impossible...."Jim, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get everybody on the same page to win a Natty". Guess Beck chose "not to accept the mission". Lol

Please let them all continue to sleep on the Dawgs. Anti-rat poison.

You got that right!!! If I was a Hairy Dawg....the hair would be standing up on my back, right now. Lol....as Mr T would say…"I pity da fools".

Can't wait till Kirby unleashes this bunch. Which I don't think he'll do, till the Bama game. Should be "an eye-op'ner", as The Bear would say.

They never learn. Thank God. Lol

@PerroGrande UGA was hardly "underrated" going into 2021. They finished 4th in the SEC in 2020 behind Alabama, Texas A&M and Florida, had no returning 1000 yard WR, RB or TE and JT Daniels was the presumed starting QB. In 2021 UGA benefited from a great crop of freshmen pass catchers - Brock Bowers, Ladd McConkey, AD Mitchell - plus James Cook was finally healthy. You are knocking the analysts for not knowing that UGA was going to get FOUR NFL STARTERS INCLUDING TWO PRO BOWLERS out of nowhere. Plus UGA 2021 recruiting class was incredible: Bowers, McConkey, Mitchell, Amarius Mims, Smael Mondon, Jared Wilson, Ingram-Dawkins, Dylan Fairchild, Kamari Lassiter, Dumas-Johnson, Javon Bullard, Chaz Chambliss, Jackson Meeks and Derion Kendrick are merely the guys in the NFL right now. But the preseason critics didn't know this. It was ranked #3 class behind Bama and Ohio State and only regarded a bit better than LSU's and Clemson's. Yet nearly all the guys mentioned above contributed in 2021 season.

And the 2025 UGA offense needs an even bigger offensive infusion than the 2021 offense did. Truth be told, Cook and the freshmen actually added to a pretty solid group. Most of the OL returned as did Zamir White, George Pickens, James Burton and John FitzPatrick. By contrast, UGA's offense in their last game only produced a single TD against Notre Dame: a 32 yard TD reception by a walk-on tailback. And as bad as that performance was, UGA lost their 3 best OLs, 2 best WRs and best RB. And all 6 of those guys were drafted. Even if you know how UGA is going to score points against a playoff caliber defense in 2025, you can't blame the people who are allegedly underrating UGA for not knowing.

Mike, Athlon is pure garbage and has been for the past couple of years. Please don’t ever mention them again.

You somehow managed to miss the key points. First a nitpick, the name is Jermaine Burton, not James Burton. Second, UGA had five first round picks from the '21 class (including the number one overall pick), and they had a record number drafted off of that great, National Championship team. As many of us on this site discussed before the season started, that D was probably one of the greatest in UGA history, if not the greatest, and one of the greatest in CFB history. The speed and talent on that defense are still underrated imho! The DL was faster than some backfields and the LB's were unbelievably fast. None of this was a secret. I was personally discussing it before the season started with other UGA fans here. Yet, at the SEC media days, not one of those players was even selected to the first string all SEC team (never mind AA) except for Davis! It was an incredible miss on their part—the number one player drafted to the NFL wasn't even selected as all SEC by the media pre-season! The key point is that talking heads and media "experts" are often, if not usually, wrong. Dissing the 2025 team preseason shouldn't worry our fans in the least. Of course, this doesn't guarantee anything for UGA's '25 season, but as I said, UGA tends to do better when disrespected and underrated like 2021, and unlike 2024.

As to your discussion on our offense, this is what you are missing: Stockton's first start in CFB was against that ND team. They ended up being the #2 team in CFB, BTW. Bobo was trying to protect him and win the game. That wasn't an easy task. Stockton will be much better in 2025 imho. Most QB's, even the great ones, get much better in their first 5-10 CFB games. I can't think of many who faced a task like Stockton did in their first CFB appearance. Second, our RB room is very underrated this year imo. If they stay healthy, Frazier and McCray are going to provide devastating and contrasting punches, and the rest of the room is stocked with talent! The receiving room appears very strong to me after the transfers and the addition of the youngsters. The one question mark I have for '25 on offense is our OL. If they are great, the UGA offense will be great. If they are SEC average, UGA should still have a good offense, although they probably won't be great. The defense does not appear to be as dominant as the '21 defense, so that is a potential choke point, but I never underestimate Kirby's D's. I'm optimistic about 2025, but injuries, the D, and the OL are my question marks.
