ATHENS — Kirby Smart doesn’t take anything for granted to the extent no one dare utter the word “complacency” in his football building, much less exhibit the slightest hint of it.

As much as I would like to see Kirby, and Bobo, let Gunner “grip it and rip it” in the first game, I’ll honestly be surprised to see Gunner throw more than 20-25 passes. We know how Kirby loves to establish a running game. It just seems to be Kirby’s ways early in the season against overmatched teams to keep things close to the vest until the SEC slate begins. Just hope we can jump out on Marshall early and give (again assuming ) Puglisi some meaningful reps. Not complaining as we all know Kirby knows what he’s doing! Go Dawgs!

if the OL/run game is improved then Gunner shouldn’t need to throw more than 20-25 times.

CKS is not one of those guys who run it up on another team. I expect to see a lot of young Pups get some game time experience once Dawgs have control of the game. If the backups score, he'll let em run!

The focus will be on the running game…vis-sa-vie, O-Line technique/dominance but expect to see long shots by Gunner. Likewise, the focus on defense will be holding The Herd under 100 yards of offense. 10 points is very generous….I believe it will be under 7 and our offense over 42. Hopefully, Pugs will get second half "clean up" duty and leaving snaps for Montgomery or Millender…..maybe Ginn.

Kirby and UGA have done just fine! it's the oddsmakers that have not excelled at setting the spread.

Just echoing many of the comments here. Hope our Dawgs can run the ball at will, Yet shut Marshall’s run game down cold. Some nice deep passes by Gunner then Pugs. Then hopefully some decent time left for the other backup QBs. Main thing I Hope to see if our run game Very successful while our run Defense Very successful.

Oh and our O Line give our QBs enough time from snap to go get a cheeseburger, eat it, burp, then throw the ball !! I think that’d show improvement from our O Line !! 🤣
