THe new receivers are going to make a huge impact or we're going nowhere.
Stockton is not him. Puglisi has a much better arm, is not sawed off at the knees, and is smarter. Stockton's experience should not give him any edge other than to show he cannot get the job done against decent competition. We lose to Bama, UT, UTexas, GT, and AU if he starts all season. Possibly add UF to that list.
Way to be optimistic CD.
thinks Gunner will be just fine, he’s a gamer & a leader imo. He reminds me of a Diego Pavia. His HS highlights when I first saw him also reminded me of a very young Brett Farv.
All he needs is a chance to show folks - he has plenty of arm, legs, leadership abilities and what is between the ears to get the job done.
He will lead and his teammates will follow IYAM.
My personal “Fan Favorites":
Offense: 1. Micah Morris. Veteran. Liked his play from the start. 1B: Drew Bobo. Thought he showed tremendous hustle when playing last year. He always seemed like he handled his business & was quickly getting to next level looking for another block.
Defense: 1. CJ Allen. Also impressed from day 1. Need a Nakobe or Roquan like year. 1A: Any DL or Edge that can be major disruptive force (like Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis).
You get really personal about Stockton every time his name is mentioned. Only reason I can figure Why is Rabun County HS must have kicked your HS azz with Gunner under center !!
It’s almost like you Hate the guy !! I’ve already said I’m a Gunner fan BUT if Pugs shows he’s the best man for the job I’m ALL for him. I’ve stated that several times on here to. WHO EVER at Any position is best for the job I’m All for them !! I want the Dawgs to Win.
Even on another thread when I said something positive about Gunner you got all snarky with Me to !! Totally uncalled for. OK you Hate the guy for some reason but I wish you’d do Me and the rest of us here a big favor and keep your Hate to yourself. Again and last time If Pugs wins the job I will Fully support him !! Even if it wasn’t Either one of those QBs I’d support whoever KS puts in. Now down vote me I don’t care but your attacking Gunner so aggressively before the season even starts is childish and uncalled for. Go back and look at his State Record breaking HS record.
It is GS or bust this season. Puglisi is not ready. The moment is still too big for him going from private school ball in CT to the SEC. GS has practiced against the UGA D for 3 years. He is as ready to start and see what he can do as he'll ever be. The moment is probably not too big for GS now unlike starting his 1st game in the playoffs. The moment is still too big for Puglisi to expect to be an effective SEC QB.
GS could actually play well (see CBeck '24) and UGA could still lose 3-4 games this season. That is how difficult the schedule is.
Kirby wants improvement in the run game, both in explosives and short yardage on 3rd and 4th downs. Avoiding a lot of 3rd and sevens is key. The D and special teams need to give Stockton the kind of field position that Bennett had for two years. People do not realize how much this helped the offense in those years.
I saw Gunner a couple of times in High School. He was almost unstoppable. He was very impressive in all aspects of his game. He ran the football a lot more then, and very effectively. We use our QB's almost entirely to pass or handoff. I think Gunner has the ability and the smarts to make our offence click.
Who ever KS decides is best for Any position I will fully support that player. I also fully realize there’s a vast difference between HS play and the SEC.
However Gunner’s stats can’t just be thrown aside inmho. From the UGA official site, note that he set state records. If he gets the Proper help from his fellow players O Line, WRs, RBs etc. I feel he can and will excel . Until he displays different I don’t see a reason not to view him in a positive light.
The ND playoff game is Not an example of failure that was a team loss primarily on the O Line and WRs and Gunner.. But he was thrown into a Playoff game with Very little time as starting QB. Actually extremely little time as being the Starting QB. If he fails and KS replaces him I will fully support who ever the QB is.
