Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

NFL Georgia rookie breakdown: Malaki Starks leads list of impressive Bulldogs

You mean we only had three out of this group who were injured? What is it with our players—They will be injured for a lot of their college career—and it continues into the pros. I. can recall going into some important games the last few years and we would have 3 on offence and 4 on defense unable to play, whereas our opponent would be perfectly healthy. I see where Alabama's running back will return for the "UGA GAME"—what a surprise!
Starks Interception of a Lamar Jackson pass in the end zone. I hought they were teammates in Baltimore..not on opposing teams.
The Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams injuries are minor @lucydawg. Their teams played it safe with them because they expect both guys to start early this season and don't want them to aggravate their injuries for meaningless preseason games. The only one who suffered a serious preseason injury was Dan Jackson, and his was season-ending.

That … never actually happened. Texas alone lost their #1 and their #3 tailbacks for the season early. They were missing their best safety, a definite future NFL draft pick who would have been the guy responsible for containing Trevor Etienne - who incidentally had his 2 most impactful games for UGA against Texas - also.
Notre Dame? Well see this: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/43399125/notre-dame-overcame-injuries-reach-college-football-playoff-championship-game and you will know that it was a very battered Fighting Irish team that dominated UGA 23-10. UGA was no more healthier at the end of 2021 and 2022 than they were at the end of 2023 and 2024. It is just that the 2021 and 2022 teams had way more talent, on both sides of the ball, to begin with.
Sorry to disagree with you, "mitch_earl", but that scenario has happened numerous times. I watch the Dawgs with a group of about 12 others and we follow injuries very closely. We do sustain injuries at a greater rate than most teams, but when you practice hard, it's inevitable—and worth it. I realise that Williams and Walker don't have career ending injuries—but I'm not just talking about the present. Thanks very much for reading my post.
I commented in another post here that I wasn't surprised by the names of former Dawgs who were cut. I am, however, surprised, at a couple of names who actually made NFL rosters, starting with Arian Smith. Great kid and teammate, but he couldn't catch a cold playing for us. And now he's "a lock" with the Jets. Go figure. And ty Ingram-Dawkins, Warren Brinson and Dominic Lovett surprised me, too. And I would have put Smael Mondon right on the edge. Don't get me wrong, those guys were very good players for us, but I just couldn't see them in the NFL (Dan Jackson, either, but he's on the IR so who knows what would have happened to him). And this is a very good indicator of why I am not an NFL general manager. But, that said, I'm very happy for them. Anyone who can make an NFL roster has obviously done something right. Go Dawgs!
