What impressed me the most the first-string defense. In my opinion, the game is won or lost on defensive, if they can continue to improve the tackling and staying in position it will mean alot.

Worried a bit about Gunners true passing game, he appeared to be quick to pull and run. Better teams will solve that and then the passing becomes more relevant, and the question remains, can he excel with his passing game.

Impressed with all the new starters on defense, how menacing they looked. Also impressed with the running skills of Gunner. Truly missed having a QB with some running ability. It helps make the offense less predictable.

I will take a passing quarterback over a running one any day. From what we witnessed yesterday, hopefully this was designed how it played out. But the passing game from Gunner Stockton was horrible. You didn't get 10 passes beyond 10 to 20 yards. That's not going to hold up against Tennessee. Fix NOW. I did like what I saw out of Puglisi.

Bobo has been coaching this kid since high school so will see what effect our "QB Guru" has on his performance. Part of his problem is Bobo and Smart never gave him enough meaningful reps last season. But that a thing with Smart and Bobo, leaving starters in salting games away instead of giving the backups reps with the 1st offense. The running game outside of Gunner looked about the same as last season. No big holes, no big push and no breakout runs. Now half the starting OL was on the sideline by the end of the 1st quarter so we will wait and see. What's encouraging is the fact that we have five maybe 6 backs to rotate instead the 3 we had last year. And the receiving corp is exceptional. The D looks good.

there weren’t many games we salted away last year to get Gunner reps. We probably should’ve but didn’t for myriad reasons.
