I'm excited for the team this year. I really hope we can cut back on the constant injuries that have plagued this team for the last 2 decades.

There is still improvement needed on the OL, and Peanut looks like running back #1 to me. I believe there will be a tad more passing in the next scrimmage to get opened up for Tennessee. There is just going to have to be improvement every game. Kirby even said" The biggest opponent each week will be ourselves".

Definitely worried about the O line and the lack of consistent playing together limiting gelling as a unit. Wilson was a man with his hair on fire, as well as Gibson and Cole, and I believe after being able to let loose much of that pent-up aggression Saturday, they will be even better as they settle into their roles. Definitely lots to be excited about on the D - Hall looked good, and the DBs were making life very tough for the receivers.

I know you can't cover everyone that had stock rising, but how about Pugs?! Did a great job with his arm and legs when he came in. Stockton played great as well and really happy he has that first game under his belt and should be more settled as the season moves along. His first real test comes in Neyland in 2 weeks.

Just awesome the season is finally here and Go DAWGS!

Phillips is very fast and he sees the hole quickly. He looked like our best back Saturday. O-line needs to improve, especially on short -yardage-straight-ahead plays and pass protection. Gunner was rushed on any attempt to throw deep downfield.

"Texas and Arch Manning struggled offensively and scored just 7 points in a loss to Ohio State."

I saw Texas get the ball inside the Ohio State 5 yard line twice and come away with nothing both times. Mainly because Sarkisian picked up the same idiot ball that nearly cost Ryan Day his job against Michigan and tried to use power football when he built a finesse team. Also because Sarkisian thinks that Arch Manning is an actual dual threat QB, instead of a dropback passer who can run, and called all those running plays for him, including the famous Jalen Hurts push goal line play which failed because there is only one Jalen Hurts (as Sarkisian coached Hurts at Bama he should know this).

Don't get me wrong. Manning is nowhere near a Heisman candidate. If Texas had their much-maligned Quinn Ewers from last year, they would have won. Manning missed a ton of throws, he missed even more reads and open receivers, and seemed to lock onto his "favourite" pass catchers, Endries and Livingstone, while completely ignoring the actual 3 starting WRs. He played like a freshman instead of a junior. But Ohio State scores 13 by simply attempting field goals instead of going for it on 4th and short, and scores 21 with better red zone playcalling.

I really had high hopes of Raylen Wilson mainly because of the reported 23 mile/hour speed with pad. But after observing him for 2 years, I'm pretty convinced that has to be some sort of a mistake. He made some plays, but looked slow, reactive and unsure of himself for the most part. He did look good occasionally when he was able to penetrate into the back field on blitzes. But he is generally not so good in coverage or when he had to tackle RBs one on one. He allowed the QB to run right around him for first down yardage on 3rd and long (fortunately the play was called back for illegal formation) in 2nd quarter.

He is definitely the most disappointing player on roster at this point.
