I believe this team can reach high level if they can correct the problems. Offensively they look good other than a few breakdowns on the blocking.

I thought it was a good move to put Puglisi in there for the heave, however as Herbstreit pointed out, it was a dart and should’ve been more of a lob into the end zone. And credit to Pugs for escaping the pressure. We’ll get there. But that’s a good point Connor. It was nice to see we didn’t let our QB get hammered again on a Hail Mary.

The dawgs are getting better, but is it enough for Bama? Defensive ends aren't getting home. More scheme blitzes. RT is still a huge issue. Gunner gives me hope. Those skill positions are very good. And Puglisi will do very well in the future.

I thought Frazier's face mask was pulled or at the very least a horse collar tackle. I still say the TD against Harris in coverage was OPI, but was blatantly missed, whether the so called "rules expert' in the booth thought it wasn't.

The Dawgs will get Bama's best for sure, but I don't believe it will be enough. Simpson is not as decisive as Joey Football was this past week before he got hit, so I don't really see Bama starting as fast as UT did. Stockton is growing. Bama's D will be a factor.

"allowing Branch to get wide open in the flats". Not a great decision on GS's part NOT to take the sure 1st down to the open Branch in favor of the miracle throw to Humphrey on 4th down. Yup it worked out. This time. But highlight's what is emerging as GS's biggest problem at QB. Not finding the open receiver.

Take away the 3 easy, long TD passes and this game might be a UGA blowout. Not sure what happened to the UGA CB's. 3 long passes where TN WR made 3 sterling plays and UGA CB's did not show well. ERIV was either doing his Julian Humphrey imitation or he experienced an epileptic seizure just as the ball arrived.

@David1 the replay above shows it was a clean tackle on Frazier at the 4. On the Harris play the TN WR held Harris's left shoulder down with his right hand. Prevented him from getting more involved the play on the arriving ball. Definitely thought that was OPI. HOWEVER, if you call that OPI you have to call Humphrey for OPI on 4th down. His push off, with the ball in the air, is what created the space Humphrey needed to make the catch.

@railroadtrack1 In the last 2 games Simpson is 41 of 46 (89%) for 608 yards and 7 TD's (0 INTS). Sounds pretty decisive to me.

RT is not an issue … so long as Bo Hughley is the starter while Greene is out. And unless Gaston is absolutely 100%, Dontrell Glover should be the starting RG. TBH, I think Hughley has looked better in pass pro than Greene even when Greene was healthy.

At 6'7" 295, Hughley is smooth and quick with good feet. Even if 295 feels a bit light (crazy), he stood up well vs. the TN speed and bull rushes. He also looks like he knows his assignments. He looked good vs A-P and better than Greene vs TN although Greene was playing hurt.

We have 4 guys I trust on the right side: Glover, Gaston, Hughley and Greene. Hoping Michael Uini can right the ship. He looked totally lost vs TN (and not great vs A-P where Hughley came in late and stabilized the line). No one wakes up in the morning hoping to perform the way he did. Need Searles to coach him through it (I hope) as we are probably going to need everyone along both lines as the season wears on.

Hindsight is 20-20 of course, but I didn't think it was a good idea to bring in Pugs for the Hail Mary… he had zero time to warm up, and consequently the heave didn't even make it to the end zone. Make no mistaker, Pugs has a cannon, and we'll see plenty of good examples of that in due time… but this wasn't one of them, no fault of his. Go Dawgs!

Good insights! Raylen Wilson not only delivered a great “hit” he made a textbook tackle. Herbstreit even mentioned his good form. I’ve seen so many great hits (not neccessarily UGA) get called for targeting and similar. No chance of that with Raylen’s tackle. Great player, great coaching.

I thought the same thing when they brought him in. You don't try to throw a football 50+ yards w/o warming up your arm. Maybe(?) he threw some on the sideline? His throw was pretty weak. But at least CKS learned not to put the starting QB at risk on the last Hail Mary play of the half.
