To this point in the season, Georgia is 7-1 and 4-1 in SEC play. The Bulldogs have ranked wins over No. 6 Ole Miss and No. 25 Tennessee. The lone loss came against No. 4 Alabama, one of nine SEC teams ranked in the top 10.

If A&M or bammer don’t lose until the SEC title game, and if Georgia can win out, Georgia could slip into the top 4 in the final rankings for the CFP seeding due to the loser of the sec title falling a little. But it would be interesting to have a playoff game in Sanford Stadium.
    Go Dawgs!

How bad is the ACC that Virginia is only getting in because it’s a conf leader? Worse than that, because of the absurd rules, an unranked Memphis would get a spot.

Would they drop A & m past The Dawgs if a & M loses the SEC Title Game?

    from the article

"Georgia will have the opportunity to add to its resume, as the Bulldogs have games against No. 11 Texas and No. 17 Georgia Tech on the schedule. Georgia hosts Texas on Nov. 15 while it plays the Yellow Jackets on Nov. 28 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta."

As Nick Saban used to say Connor Riley is guilty of peddling 'rat poison" in this article. The only game that matters is this Saturday's game against Mississippi State. There doesn't need to be any speculation on the Dawgs adding to their resume against Texas and Georgia Tech. As I am sure Kirby has told his team - looking at anything other than your next opponent is a great way to get your ass handed to you!

Good to see the CFP Committee finally taking SOS into account much more than they did last season. Six SEC teams in the Top 12!

I would have put Texas A&M at #2 over Indiana, but it's only the first set of rankings. We know things will change going forward. Dawgs just gotta keep chopping wood...

Ohio State won't be tested until presumably the B1G Championship game against most likely Indiana. But I do think their #1 ranking is probably deserved whether or not their SOS warrants it. Their ranking might not change unless Indiana or the Aggies keep winning against better competition. The Buckeye's quarterback, Julian Sayin, is completing 80 percent of his passes. He has arguably the two best receivers in the country in Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate. His offensive line has allowed three sacks all season. And Ohio State’s defense, which is allowing the fewest yards per play (3.75) of any team in the last decade, is as sound a unit as there is in the country - even after last season lost a lot of players to the NFL and now they have a new DC.

the aTm, UGA ranking should be a very easy puzzle to solve after seccg should aTm lose to bama. They both will have had good common opponents to compare. How did they do against Texas and bama? If there are large differences favoring one over the other the committee should go one way. And if game performances are similar, the committee likely keeps aTm ahead. This all assumes they both win out, of course.
