But the social media was all over the Florida player for the video with Georgia players after they lost game.
Evans is gonna be the Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, of the '20's NFL. The kid knows how to use his gifts, to play the game of football. No doubt about that.
Hated to see him leave.…but, there's only so-many touches to go 'round. It was time for him to fly on his own....and, UGA was just, too crowded with top tier talent, for that to happen in Athens.
Nice game, "Ant-Man" Evans. See ya in the show. I hope.
Love that.
Once a dawg, ….Great game for coach Bobo
Sic 'Em !!
Maybe it was $$$.
Good player. I'm glad our team has love and respect for him. Even more glad they held him and his teammates to a nothing burger performance and then gave him hugs.
Go, Dawgs!
Evans made it personal when he started talking trash before the game started. Sometimes, you just need to learn to keep your mouth shut.
UGA (and the very few programs like it) ain’t for everybody.
I don’t understand why starters transfer out, usually just greed I suppose. In Evan’s case, I’m sure it was a twofold decision, Miss is much closer to home and an opportunity to start. I’m glad he is having an opportunity to shine there. We good with Branch! The way Kirby still talks about Ant you just know it was a gut wrenching decision for him to leave Athens. Best of luck little fella, dgd
they’ve also utilized him more in Starkville. He never seemed like a willing (or able) blocker so his runway to success here was always going to be short. Glad he’s finally getting some run and glad we were able to mostly shut him down.
Saturday's game showed exactly why Branch is on UGA and Evans isn't. The comparison's are stark. Branch is the far better player. Professional approach. Leader. Uplifting teammate. More consistent catcher (most consistent catcher seen at UGA in a while knock on wood). Hard worker at practice. Willing blocker. Most dangerous return man UGA has had in a while. Controlled emotions. Playmaker. Flawless execution on O though new to the O.
Evans was so into trash talking during the week and showing up his former teammates he lost sight of the goal of the game. He took himself out of playing his game.
It has surprised me how quickly and thoroughly Branch has taken a leadership role on the team. Rare for a transfer at UGA. Evans was at UGA 2 years and didn't scratch the surface of the leadership that Branch has earned in months.
I agree....100%! I don't remember if Evans contributed to Special Teams or not. Seems like I remember him muffing a punt or two.
I always thought of Evans as kind of a scat back…change of pace guy, that stretched the field with his speed...and kept defenses on their toes. But, the Dawgs are loaded with guys like that, this year....AND.…they that can block and contribute on ST.
I don't know if that's what it was....but, UGA's no place to expect to lean on your "specialty". Lol....Kirby's gonna challenge you to expand your comfort zone. Some people can take it.…most can't.
100% agreement?! Well it is a red letter day. My work here is done. No need to post any more of my comments on Dawgnation.
Just kidding.
Evans is a talented young man. Not especially big. His game reminds me a little of Jermaine Burton. Not as big. A little twitchier. Has some room to grow his game. Had a return or 2 at UGA that showed some potential. What seems to be holding him back is his head. This whole pre-UGA week drama seemed so self centered and unnecessary. WR's are known to be notoriously "divas". He seems to fit in well.
His transfer shows his impatience to try and showcase his talent in games while developing rather than developing in practice to demonstrate his talent in games. UGA isn't a place to showcase talent. It is a place to develop talent and win games.
Dang....you must've gotten hit by a lightening bolt of "truth". Lol...cause, you're making an awful lot of sense, today. Lmao.…just kidding.
I think we see eye-to-eye on Kirby's Program. We've come to know what to expect from his teams, throughout the season.
It's all about development, basics and team football. If you can stand out within the system and with all that talent and commitment around you....more power to ya. Brock Bowers comes to mind, as an example.
And.....I expect the Dawgs to lock their Jaws and shake like hell,, come Saturday. The table is set....just waitin' for the steak. Lol
