my point on Gabe Harris returning is that not one reporter for Dawg Nation has covered this announcement. The reporters have covered unimportant players entering the portal and Dawgs in the portal or NFL declaration. Gabe Harris returning is far more impactful to the Dawgs future than reporting on current Dawgs in the NFL. I really respect the writers for Dawg Nation but someone wished this headline.

the dawgs basically run out of 2 defensive formations. The 3-3-5 and the 4-2-5. They adjust in & out of these formations when they see the offensive set of their opponent.

They list Harris as an OLB, but it is also called Edge when he moves up to the LOS. It’s a dual position, or hybrid. The idea is to have a person that can play both positions so the D’ can adjust without someone leaving the field..

The Edge position is basically the same as the old DE position - they just changed the name to Edge in this D’. They also basically have the same responsibilities,

When he/Harris is back at OLB - he is of course off the LOS and playing back with the other backers.

The concept is a lot like the old monster defense that some used when people were running off balanced lines. They had a position called “monster man” and he would call for the defensive line to shift to the strong side once the offense lined up. He would then also line up on the defensive line as a DE or drop into coverage as a LB/DB.

The Star position is a similar hybrid position.

He should be forced to go back to West Point and finish there and then serve out his commitment that he made to this country.

I see Damon Wilson is back in the portal after a year. They never learn. Develop and go to the NFL or jump around so you can play in the CFL.

Amen…..these guys are all "Mentally BIG FISH" looking for their BIG POND, when all the while they're in need of a much much smaller pond to even have a chance to swim…..rather than work, compete, and win…..they just swim away…..To The DAWG TEAM'S Cultural benefit.

What is this talk about Frazier? Is he considering the TP? How in the world could he improve his position with some other team

Sorry—internet issues. Did we have a Todd Gurley commit that I missed?

He found out the SEC wasn't the AAC… Should have saw that coming.

So … How has every NFL franchise managed to handle it? Seriously? I think you answer your own question by mentioning that the NFL teams are franchises! They are multi-million dollar businesses, not universities. UGA is technically a 501c3 non-profit established to educate young people. NFL teams have millionaire/billionaire owners in most cases, their players are contracted, unionized employees, they sell seat licenses, they sell millions of dollars of NFL swag, they get huge tax incentives from cities that they call home, NFL generates gazillions of dollars in advertising revenue that accrues to the member teams, they have fully embraced revenue from gambling businesses, etc, etc, etc

Maybe UGA should reach out to Damon and tell him that they will drop the lawsuit against him for breach of contract if he will come back. I know, I know he is not a man of his word, but … we really need good edge rushers. Everyone seems to want college football the be totally transactional these days, so what the heck. Are you not entertained?

@ E_Roc..years and years of dealing with this in the NFL system, more rules in place on how to manage the situation. Rather than the new, out of control system of the NCAA that has almost no rules, or guidlines to be enforced, or attempt to enforce. That would be my only guess..
