Hopefully our starting QB and his backups will eventually, consistanlty have great days, even against a great defense. Otherwise, we'll have a good but not great season. And by the way, that outcome is not all on the QB himself… but he HAS to be the flywheel. Go Dawgs!
Just put it this way, I've never seen anyone had a big improvement in the 2nd year, especially when we didn't see any improvement and perhaps even some regression toward the end of the year. Maybe Stockton will be different, but I'm not holding my breath.
Stetson Bennett had a big improvement from his first year as a starter to his second. After his first year, and the loss to Alabama in the SEC championship game, there was a lot of debate going into the national championship game whether or not he or Daniels should start. In Bennetts second year there was no doubt that he was the man. As a fan, you could tell that he was more confident and he had a better command of the offense.
having Brock bowers and Ladd McConkey also helped.
Just my take but I believe Gunner will improve at a minimum Some. Hopefully Allot. Even though the post season didn’t end the way we had hoped I still believe he had a very good season. Not great but very good.
Since the B2B Nattys no other UGA QB has accomplished any more Win wise as he did. The same but no better. As @khummel said and I agree he’s gonna Need the other components to perform well. But Yes he is the flywheel so it starts with him.
I think this Dawgs team is gonna be very formidable on Both sides of the ball !! Go Dawgs !!
