Is there possibly a glaring reason Georgia didn’t lose any coaches this offseason? Perhaps in particular, an OC that was mediocre under Mark Richt with predictable play calling, failed miserably as a head coach at Colorado State and was hired by his buddy Muschamp at South Carolina. After Muschamp was fired, he left for Auburn and fired after one season, going 6-6 and struggling in the second half of games there. Then, once again, he’s hired by a buddy in Kirby Smart as OC at Georgia where he has been somewhat successful but again, we have periods where we stall on offense for no apparent reason other than vanilla and predictable play calling. Time and time again, our defense has saved our a-s-s in games that should have never been close. Go ahead and down vote me but I truly do not look forward to another season with Bobo calling plays and in many cases, wasting talent with his predictable and vanilla play calling and sitting on leads when we should be putting teams away and allow for backup QB’s to get meaningful playing time. My rant is now concluded, that is all! Go Dawgs!

IF YOU THINK KIRBY WOULD HIRE A BUDDY AND DECREASE THE CHANCE FOR A NATTY I THINK YOU NEED TO THINK IT OVER!!!!

BornADawg, I agree. But, I'm hoping Bobo will grow. He has more talent around him designing plays, which is what they do now. I'm hopeful. Having said that, if he doesn't have a good year, this will get out of control for Kirby real quick.

I actually saw Bobo call some good offenses under Richt when he had some talent to work with. Richt's problem was not understanding the importance of a strong defense in most years. The key to success IMO is to get continued improvement in the run game. It improved a lot last year, but not back to the 200 yards per game that it was during the natty years. Get that back along with returning to a suffocating defense and the Dawgs will have a very good chance at it this year.

Meanwhile, Georgia's baseball team is leading the SEC conference and ranked #5 overall in the nation.

Bobo can definitely improve and I would love more creativity but defense didn't help much against Tenn and Ole Miss. Both offense and defense contributed to loss against Ole Miss second time around. Let's get a least one side of the ball playing high level ball…consistently

@BornADawg...I think it's a decisive year for Bobo. He has the best offensive squad that the Dawgs have had since Monken was here - maybe even better - so it's now or never for offensive production, explosive plays, and legitimate regular use of the TE room.

On another note on how Cignetti differs in his coaching style from Kirby and others when it comes to practices...Curt gives his players a lot more time off, has shorter and less demanding practices, and emphasizes basic fundamental football every single practice. Know your job and do your job he is quoted as saying. It works for him and his team and has for all the success he has had through the years. There might be something valid to his approach.

If we can ever advance to a second round in the playoffs without looking lost against high quality teams, perhaps then I WILL think it over. Until that happens, nope! I’ve thought it over for several years as many of us on here have discussed many times. By the way, turn off the caps!
