Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Why Georgiaâs NIL strategy better suits its roster in 2026 than it did in 2025

âI donât want you to have to take a discount,â Smart recently told Josh Pate. âOK, a discount might be a little less than year one or two. We have we have traditionally paid our players junior and senior year as much as anybody at those positions. We donât want to start [earlier] because I want you to earn it and work your way up.â

Well, we lost Andrew Beard to UF and he was a legacy RB. Time will….
we already had two RBs committed. Why would he come be the third in line?
Are we being out-recruited by Florida?
@lucydog…it's WAY early. We're sitting at #20 in the 2027 recruiting rankings with (3) 5-stars right now. We know the landscape will change. Heck, Oklahoma is #1 right now with (3) 5-stars and (21) recruits, followed closely by Texas A&M, USC (again on top), UCLA, then Florida. We're ahead of LSU and WAY ahead of Bama. Texas a bit in front of us.
Let's see how things look in the Fall. Like has been said, retention of good, experienced players is almost if not more important than those top stars out of high school.
at the moment it would appear that way. But a lot can change between now and then. Just like we experience late flips, so do they. So there’s no assurance they won’t experience attrition in their current class either.
They are actually recruiting high level LOS so maybe things are changing…although they aren’t from the region so maybe a school closer to them will offer a better deal.
@Kasey Good point! I forgot how loaded we are in that room.
With pay and play recruiting and Georgia’s war chest not being as deep as the other schools , Kirby is worth at least a million in savings over other programs simply by being here . When he retires the war chest will have to expand and quick . I enjoy every year he is here . I remember going home too many Saturdays disappointed.
what makes you think our war chest isn’t as deep as others?
He may be reffering to the fact we do not have a mega-donor and no oil money.
Warning Off Topic !! Just wanted to say that I’m gonna take a break during this summer “dead period”. I’ll probably check and do some speed reads but no comments.
Wanted to report that my cancer numbers were a smidgen high but nothing to freak out over. I Do have to go get some iron infusions by IV but that ain’t nothing. Yall sometimes we agree and sometimes we disagree. But one thing is for sure we All love our Dawgs and are very passionate about them.
I feel very blessed to be a little part of the greatest fanbase in CFB which is of course Dawg Nation !! I’ve met in cyber Allot of great people here and feel like Yall are my cyber Dawgs Family !!
May God Bless & Protect you All. Hope Y’all have a Wonderful and Safe Summer !! Go Dawgs !! Bring home the hardware for 2026/2027 !!
neither does Ohio state and they seem to be doing ok
@navydawg Praying our good LORD blesses you as you continue the cancer journey. Praying God shows out and brings you some great conclusions as the cancer leaves your body! Our God is good! Be well sir, in the name of Jesus!
I cannot argue with you on that one. Beats me how they do it. Maybe a larger fan base?
@navydawg
Prayers to you and good luck. Been there twice myself. I don't think anything is going to happen till June.
i think UGA does fine with their war chest to be honest. I think we put more into retention of guys instead of high school guys. Not saying these recruits are getting zilch, just meaning Kirby isn’t going to open the pocketbook for anyone who hasn’t shown anything in the college game unless they are very special.
