Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

“The next step comes with getting that roster to play its best football at the end of the season. Something that has not happened in each of the last two seasons.”
If the expansion serves to eliminate the prolonged break between the final game and the first playoff game it could be a big advantage for UGA. The break that provides some much needed rest at the end of the season seems to also come with some rust that made the difference in a bad way last year.
GO DAWGS!
I’m with smart. Don’t pay the high dollar out of high school , but where we disagree could be the portal. I am very willing to pay for players out of the portal as long as they are a good fit for the team. We don’t want to be the Miami heat and pay all this money with very little to show.

Very good article. I will say that Dylan Raiola should be a cautionary tale to all the big money five stars, and there are lots more stories like that. Someone can come up with big money, but do you want to risk everything to play on a sub par team. We'll see how Miami does over the next couple seasons.
It seems a lay off or bye week has an ill effect for teams coming into the playoff on a "roll." Didn't bother Indiana last year, but expansion of the playoffs could eliminate all that down time. I might be grasping at straws here, but we will see soon as 24 teams seems inevitable.
I don't like them, but I think Miami is going to be top 5 over the next few years. Good coaching & they're loading up on talent. I don't put much stock in "commitments" any more, especially ours, but it seems every big name is choosing Miami, Texas, Ohio State. Not sure how they're getting so many.
24 teams is all about money and everyone knows it. Can't wait to see Oregon steamroll James Madison again. Should be another thriller.
18 year old's, **** sports agents, **** attorneys and **** politicians have university presidents by the ⚾️'s.
Most of them need to go online and order a set of tentacles instead of taking fans for granted and increasing prices on everything.
Interesting. I just read a column released today by Seth Emerson in The Athletic. Apparently, the SEC Championship game is worth about $100M to the SEC. Sankey is hesitant to go forward with an expanded playoff that gets rid of the SECCG if that money is not replaced somehow by the playoffs. And there is no guarantee at this point that amount of $$$ can be made up. However, it's also been acknowledged that the TV ratings for the SECCG have been flat or gone down. The B1GCG actually drew more viewers last season (not a big surprise).
ESPN owns the rights to the playoffs UP TO 14 teams. Beyond that the entire CFP TV RIGHTS would have to go out for bid again to all the media. That's why ESPN does not want the playoffs to expand. I don't think Disney, ESPN's parent company, wants to throw any additional monies into ESPN.
So, yes, this whole playoff expansion thing is about money, but there's a few things that I did not know until today.
Could the SEC go it alone? Yes, they could. I'm not sure what that would look like, but conceivably they could hold out while all the other conferences expand the playoffs without the SEC. Sounds ludicrous.
