    • 1. Oregon Ducks – Anchored by A’Mauri Washington, Bear Alexander, Teitum Tuioti, and Matayo Uiagalelei.
    • 2. Texas Longhorns
    • 3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
    • 4. Clemson Tigers
    • 5. Ole Miss Rebels
    • 6. Michigan Wolverines – Boosted heavily by Utah transfer John Henry Daley.
    • 7. Oklahoma Sooners
    • 8. Indiana Hoosiers – Led by Tyrique Tucker and transfers Chiddi Obiazor and Joshua Burnham.
    • 9. Texas Tech Red Raiders
    • 10. Georgia Bulldogs – Anchored by Elijah Griffin, with "real top 5 potential" by November. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
    • Well, we gotta play #5 and #7. It's really wierd, and not in a good way, to see a Dawg defensive line so far down anyone's Top 10 list. A few news outlets picking the Ducks to win it all this season. With Dante Moore at the helm and a top notch defense, I think the Ducks have got as good of a chance as any team.

Decent read, what can't be evaluated but will be a factor for all teams is injuries. Players are bigger and faster and even though the equipment is much better, it can't prevent season ending knocks. Would be interesting to know what pecentage of players experience ACl's or labrum surgeries.

So how is our depth on D?

"MontanaDawg"—You are correct. To see our defense rated so low is troubling. We need to be at the top—not in the middle of the pack behind 9 other teams—(Indiana and Texas Tech-Really?) As Vince often said—you need three things to win in the SEC—A stout defense-an exceptional and productive running game-and excellent special teams play. Let's all hope our defense is better than this. GO DAWGS

i mean it’s Greg McElroy…and it’s an article on ESPN which means it was likely edited to garner the most clicks and controversy for talking points. Putting Georgia high on that list is “boring.”

Also, I would contend we are a bit of a “no-name” defense with Miller and CJ going pro. Our best players aren’t well known as of today but that could change by this time next year.

Imo... @lucydog .…It's only, "concerning"....if you don't consider the source. Those guys have never been right about anything, when it comes to the Dawgs.

I don't doubt the 3 DL guys named. They can tote the load...and some. My concern is more about depth and health with the guys behind and around em.

But, this ain't Kirby's first dance. He knows what it takes to make it through a 16-17 game season with more wins than everybody else. He could use a little December Luck for a change, though.

I think they're going to have to be smart with the way they use the front 7 thos year...particularly the linemen....to avoid fatigue and injury, while improving deprh and experience levels.

Lol....Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are a proven commodity. They produce at an elite level, every season. Even their losses aren't really "bad losses". And....they usually involve a reduced capability due to injury.

I can't say any of that....about ANY of the so-called "experts" that get it wrong, year-in.…year-out.....and, still get paid. What a kush, good for nothing, high payin' job! Let's talk about "them" for a change. Lmao. What's their record? Lol

Nah.…they were talkin' Elijah Griffin up, all last year. He's a name. But...right now....that's about it. His ceiling is still way up there....imo. I look for him to become a "household" name this year, barring injury or an act-of-God. Lol

Btw....imo....the defensive coaching changes should go a long way in improving....the involvement of the LB's in support of the Pass Rush. That's where I hope to see drastic improvement.

    Go Dawgs!!!

who’s “they?” Certain analysts might know Griffin but he’s definitely not a household name yet. Definitely not as a true sophomore.

Yes he had an impactful year but the casual fan and non-Georgia fan might not be as familiar with him as others.

Bama boy McElroy will be singing out of the other side of his mouth when he sees the Dawgs D this season. I think there is a real chance that the defense will hold Bama to 17 or less in T Town. I see where he has tejas and the ducks at the top. The Dawgs offenses have NEVER had any trouble scoring lots of points on those teams. The Dawgs defense slipped a good bit in 2024 and 2025, but it will be back with a bite in 2026. I love defense.

Greg McElroy is just butt hurt his Bama boys are in decline. This year could be really bad for Bama, really bad.

Georgia should be top 2 right behind Oregon and will be better than Oregon's DL by end of season. Georgia will have the best OL and the best DL this year. It won't even be close. All these top 100 DL are entering their 3rd year plus a bunch of studs in the 2nd year. Plus Sone. We have 6 or 7 NFL draft picks in this DL. Nasir is going to be nasty this year as is McLeod and Harris and Ogboko and Hanne and Griffin. Then throw in Hall, Horton, Gibson, Greene. Oh yah, Joseph Jonah Ajonye also. We can go full tilt with dudes all game long and that is going to be a big problem, big big problem for other teams. These guys are all quality top 5 rounds of NFL guys. We probably have a couple 1st round picks in there and a couple 2nd or 3rd round guys and a handful of 4 and 5th round guys.

This DL is stacked. McElroy is a joke. 10th, nah…try 2nd to start the year and 1st by the end of it. Some money is going to be made by this group this year after we it the Nattie!
