UGA has zero DB commits for the '27 cycle? I thought TRob and DWill were primarily hired because they were ace recruiters? DWill was supposed to unlock CA with all his west coast connections.
With only 2 of State of GA's top 15 HS players committed to UGA maybe UGA needs a DB coach with State of GA connections?
Recruiting sure has changed in the last few years.
i think part of it stems from our stacked DB class in 26. Ever since we didn’t get Caleb Downs from hiring T-Will it’s been downhill since. I’m sure Muschamp will hire him eventually.
I am sure that is part of it. But none of the 6 DB's UGA signed in '26 were ranked in the Top 90 (Rivals/On3) prospects in the nation. Two of the safety signee's were ranked outside the Top 250 prospects. One of the CB signee's is coming off an ACL(?) and may not play this season. The other '26 CB signee is listed at 170 lb. We know how well 170 lb CB's have done in the UGA system. (See Kimber, Singletary, D Harris, M Washington, N Green).
You would think that competition of that level would not "scare off" many of the players looking for pre-NFL development as recruited by UGA's ace secondary recruiters.
A lot of swings and misses. Especially this year across the board.
