Wow, if we get shutout of this group, it would be crushing. Maybe one, please!

    Why is this happening? $$$

UGA doesnt have a multi-billionare sugar daddy that can top any offer UGA makes. Sorry Kirby, the era of building a team just with recruiting classes is over. More poaching players with specific demonstrated skill sets will be necessary. Need more scouts looking for those hidden gems.

Personally, I plan to enjoy this season to the fullest, because this team is stacked with DGD’s coached by one of the biggest DGD this institution has ever produced.

May a 1000 folding metal chairs descend upon those that disagree😂

Here are the only teams that have recruiting rankings in the Top 10 for BOTH '26 and '27 (as of July 6th):

    Oregon - #3 in '26, #3 in '27

    Ohio State - #4 in '26, #9 in '27

    Notre Dame - #5 in '26, #2 in '27

    Miami - #9 in '26, #4 in '27

    Texas - #7 in '26, #6 in '27

    Texas A&M - #10 in '26, #1 in '27

As you can see, the Dawgs are not in this group. Their recruiting class in '26 was ranked #6, and currently their '27 ranking is #18.

More competition in the top echelon. Harder job for Kirby. I'm not too worried about it going into this season, but we'll see how this drop-off for the Dawgs effects their performance going forward the next few seasons. Remember, this battle for players is in a fluid state and things will change. Kirby' coaching and development will hopefully make up any real difference when the players take the field.

Saban saw this future and got the heck out of it. Kirby eventually will too. He will not be able to stomach being beaten by the likes of Vandy and S Carolina for prized recruits.

Not even CKS can coach height, speed, and length. These measurables are a lot of what goes into these recruit rankings. I'm not concerned for this year, but future years when we're trying to compete against teams with players that are bigger, stronger, and faster than our players. Coaching and development can only overcome so much.

With all due respect, there have been at least two or three stories published this spring detailing the A-to-Z of why all this is happening. That will include one linked in the body copy of this post.

We've been writing all about that.

IMO the key is whether these incoming freshmen have multi-year contracts (to which, Jeff has alluded) and how enforceable those contracts will be…getting players out of the portal in the future will be dependent on their availability

Also, notably missing from MontanaDawg's list are teams who have spent $ in the past such as Tennessee, Texas Tech, etc - where they be?

Finally, don't tell me UGA doesn't have the $ to be in the top 10, if they so desire

JS is the best and most thorough sports reporter i have read in a long time.

If you want to understand the "why" of the current UGA recruiting "predicament" read @E_Roc 's comment below. Pretty spot on.

I never thought i would see the day when UGA/CKS would lose a recruit to UConn football.
