Well, it is his life and more power to him. For UGA it is just another transfer that did not pan out. Been a few of these….

Sigh...par for the course. Negative narratives and shots at this program and Smart are tiresome. The media kisses Cignettis bum on ESPN about his practices. KS been doing that for 10 yrs.
What it really means...hate on Georgia for their success. Nitpick the negatives. 3 of last 5 SECC and BACK2BACK SECC plus 2 NCs. But let's focus on playing 2 CFP games...one with a backup QB and the other w/o our best OL and edge rusher. And a bogus targeting call that led to the long pass play over his replacement.
Keep doubting...being negative. I'll trust the man who is there, been there done that and has unprecedented success with Saban as the only modern era exception. But even he didnt have to navigate this wild west bs with no defined rules of leadership in the NCAA.
The timing is what interests me. I'm all for the young man leaving football if his heart isn't in it How do you manage a roster when someone can just depart a few weeks before the season starts? When will we ever have disclosure regarding NIL contracts (amount, conditions for payment, term length, penalties for non compliance, etc)?
People aren't be negative, not everyone puts Kirby on a pedestal. Look where Clemson was 6-7 years ago vs now! Make excuses about Beck being hurt O line injuries, that's football! Bama lost both 1st round WR's in 21 not sure Georgia wins if Bama had both of them, facts are Georgia has 1st round playoff exits last 2 years and poor recruiting last 2 years that's a trend in the wrong direction, just like after Clemson was on top witb 2 nattys and all the Dabo apologist still clamor we stand behind him! Nothing wrong with being honest about what your eyes are telling you vs what your heart wants to believe!
I wish nothing but the best for him. He's maybe 22? Let him be. Still a lot of miles to go for him. It sounds like his heart just wasn't into it despite having stuck through spring and summer workouts. It's better that he made the decision at the beginning than in the middle. I'm glad he gave the program more notice than we were being led to believe.

JT Daniels worked out? How so? He transferred TWO more times after he left UGA. 4 different schools in 4 years is not working out. There have been several transfers that did work out, but also some that havent. It was the young man's choice to step away, nobody else's, and his decision should be respected.
Man, I'm shocked at the negativity flying around about this young man. We do not know what is going on in his life and to state he is afraid of work is ridiculous and highly inappropriate. For someone with his skill set to voluntarily step back, something big has to be happening and I wish him all the best as he moves forward with his life.
To the poster railing about putting Kirby on a pedestal and how he is steering the team down a poor path, have you been watching football the past few years. To say Georgia is stepping back is laughable if you are basing that only on national championships. So many things have to go right for that to happen and as we have seen, all it takes is 1-2 key players to go down, for things to go wrong. If you are on board only when it is a natty, just check out.

the thing about Kirby is he is like you don’t want to be here so we move on. I think the two that really surprised me was Pops and Bear Alexander. Don’t know if either made it to the pros

I believe Georgia still would have beaten bama even with the top receivers. Our last three TDs were scored by a freshman, freshman and RS freshman. So one senior or junior player doesn’t always make the difference. Go Dawgs!
