Going to the proverbial Las Vegas of the SEC, who could blame him? Have fun in sin city, I know I would. Matt Corral is a quality young man.

how many commits has he made?

Fields is all Dawg and I'd be mad too if the new coach went to see a player already committed elsewhere before seeing me. I think Florida is going after Gerry Bohanon or Emory Jones.

I don’t see Jones going there. He’s either staying at O$U or flipping to Alabama.

I have a friend who knows Emory. We live less than 20 mins from heard co and he goes to all their games, etc. He said he’s just been waiting on an offer from Mullen. Fixing to get interesting...

I believe Corral has only committed 3x including Ole Miss. USC, UF, and now Ole Miss. And I don't think he is guaranteed that much playing time initially. Jordan Ta'Amu is athletic and comes from the same area of Hawaii as Bama's Freshamn QBTua Tagovailoa.

But we will see. I think it more so came to fit within a system. I agree with @spradlin24 when it comes to Corral not wanting that pure DT tag. But I do like the fit because I do think Corral has some talent for sure.

@greygoose01 Emory Jones would be a good fit for UF. I wonder if Bama makes a late push. Does anybody know if Jones is an Early Enrollee guy or when he is making commitment. This one could come down to the wire! Hope UF misses out and starts Franks again lol

Pretty sure bama has had the Saban copter out this way recently. They’re pretty confident they can flip him. I’m just not buying it yet. The kid is good, will be better when he puts on a few more lbs though. I’d much rather see him to UF and beat out Franks, instead of riding the pine at bama. Mullen was the first one in the SEC to offer him, while he was back at Miss St. And yes, he's an early enrollee, so time is ticking. It's going to get interesting since Ohio St. has recently offered another QB. Of course with all this crazy Fields flipping talk, which I don’t buy either, but worst case scenario, if I’m Kirby, I’m still in Emory’s ear. We sure hoped he’d stay home and represent, but he’s gotta do what’s best for him, ya know. Love to see local kids getting national recognition.

agreed! I think if we wouldn't have gotten JF we could have definitely flipped Emory at this point. But yea I am surprised he was thinking of OSU or Bama. He is going to get buried by the depth chart and is really going to need an offense to allow him to get more playing time to develop. Great talent just needs a chance to develop as a passing QB.

I simply do not understand why he would flip to OM. I don't get it.

Fla is a mess. Their current class is weak and they just lost their crowning jewel. I understand that Corral doesn't exactly fit the Mullen offense, but the Mullen offense has proven incapable of beating good teams. If Mullen ran Corral off because of that, I would say that is a horrendous strategic decision.

There must be some red flags with Corral because his recruiting didn’t really take off to the level it should have (as it pertains to someone of his rating and being from Long Beach Poly). I know USC backed off after he was kicked off of the football team at Oaks Christian.

This. I hate to draw any conclusions without knowing much about the kid, but I do believe he would have made a commitment to UGA if he had a commttable offer. Something just seems “off” with this kid.

Mullen literally takes the first step off his plane looking silly doing the Chomp wildly, then his first order of business is to embarrass/antagonize his team’s top ranked recruit and quarterback of the future. What was he thinking? Especially when you consider he offered Corral when he was coach at Miss St.

Now UF’s top commit/QB is gone. IMO this is right up there will ALL-TIME bonehead moves for a new incoming coach. What was he thinking?

If Corral plays well at Miss St, UF fan base won’t ever let it go. Incoming QB may find his fan base always judging his stats against Corral’s.

    Ole Miss*

****, senior moment on my part. You’re right, I should have referenced “Ol Miss” in my last paragraph. Will edit/correct, thanks.

Who was that kid a few years ago who was supposed to be the next great thing? Gunter something i think. Committed to just about every B10 school, eventually ended up at Cincinnati and did diddly squat?

I just think its hilarious how many FL fans think that the only reason this happened is that Fields is flipping....

The kid is literally recruiting guys to UGA as I type and will be in Athens this weekend along with god knows how many 5-star recruits trying to twist their arms. But why let the facts get in the way of your delusion that everyone QB in the world wants to play for the worlds greatest QB guru Dan Mullen?

I look forward to watching the continued demise of the once-mighty gators. Mullen is not the guy. He will get them back to bowl games, but I doubt they will ever finish higher than 3rd in the SECE. And with Pruitt at UT and KY showing serious signs of life...they might have a couple of season at the very bottom of the SECE in their near future. What elite QB wants to be part of that? The florida roster is weak and their current class is lean at best. QB is probably the least of their worries.
