It looked like Kentucky could run out and extend the lead, but Georgia's on a 4-0 run, with Mike Edwards making a layup and a short jumper. Then we had a double-technical foul: Jawing between Edwards and a Kentucky player after Wilridge blocked a shot out of bounds, then appeared to stare awhile at his vanquished shot-taker.

Kentucky facing some foul trouble here, with three key guys (Fox, Briscoe and Hawkins) all with three fouls. Georgia is already in the bonus with 12:42 left.

But Frazier is having an uncharacteristically rough game at the line. He's now 6-for-9 .

Every time Georgia ties it or briefly goes ahead, Kentucky has a quick answer.

I have to say, considering everything this is the most heart I've seen Georgia show in some time. And by different players.

  • sethemersonsethemerson Posts: 686 ✭✭✭✭ Senior

First heart and now fire, perhaps too much: Pape Diatta has to be separated and the ensuing scrum has Mark Fox come across the court to try to calm things down. It happened after Diatta and a Kentucky player were tangled up following a Georgia defensive rebound.

You see what happens when Maten and Ogbeide aren't in there: Georgia has trouble reobunding. Two straight offensive rebounds for Kentucky, the second one leading to a Houston Kessler over-the-back call.

    Ogbeide coming back in now.

Ogbeide with a tough call against him there, looked like he kept his hands up as Kentucky player drove into him. That's Ogbeide's third foul, as Georgia holds a two-point lead.

And now a fourth foul on Ogbeide, who did appear to get body there on Monk's drive.

Where is Jordan Harris? We need to give Crump more time to get a rhythm.

Frazier now up to 25 points. He's doing everything he can.

  • sethemersonsethemerson Posts: 686 ✭✭✭✭ Senior

Big sequence: Diatta drilled a 3 to make it 64-61, Georgia. And then Juwan Parker drew a charge after an offensive rebound – which was Briscoe’s fifth foul. He leaves the game with nine points and six rebounds.

Back-and-forth the last few minutes. J.J. Frazier nails a 3 and Georgia leads 71-69 with 2:15 left.

  • sethemersonsethemerson Posts: 686 ✭✭✭✭ Senior

Frazier now with a season-high 32 points. He's having the kind of night that everyone envisioned for his senior year.

Between the offensive rebound and the review, a very long possession for Kentucky, which ends with Fox making a running layup with 1:09 left, tying it.

  • sethemersonsethemerson Posts: 686 ✭✭✭✭ Senior

It's Frazier vs. Fox now: Frazier hits a running layup with 55 seconds left to put Georgia back ahead. Then Fox drives and is fouled by Ogbeide - his fifth.

  • sethemersonsethemerson Posts: 686 ✭✭✭✭ Senior

Diatta got the ball on the side and tried an ill-advised runner. It was blocked easily, and in the ensuing loose ball Edwards fouled Fox. He hits both, and Kentucky leads with 27.9 seconds left.

Frazier chose to shoot early rather than hold for the last shot, and it missed. Kentucky now with free throws and a chance to go up two possessions.

Yet another heartbreaker for Georgia, which falls 82-77. It walks slowly off the court, as students and fans give them a hand.

Now we await word on Maten.
