    We have a POTUS who has called the press, an enemy of America. He sided with a Russian despot dictator who has re-ignited the cold war against our own intelligence services. MANY experts think he is damaging our federal institutions for generations to come. A high level FBI special agent resigned Friday so he can be free to speak up about Trump's war on our institutions.

    This is not Hillary doing self serving things and lying about taking fire in Bosnia or wherever. This is an unprecedented attack on a system we've had in place for close to 250 years.

    None of what I've posted even gets to WHY he is doing these things, but hopefully it will come out.

    No he hasn't.
    He takes credit for some that began early in Obama's presidency.
    The unemployment rate was 7.9% when Obama took office. It took a year to turn things around and the rate went to almost 10% in 2009, then the rate dropped all the way to 4.7% the day Trump took office. It's now 4.1%. If you have common sense you should be able to understand Obama climbed the mountain, then Trump walked the last few feet and says the rate is the lowest since just after Clinton left office.
    Trump is a blowhard who BSs and people who are either too lazy to check or can't think through such things eat it up like small children.

    Unemployment rate when Bill Clinton took office 7%
    Unemployment rate when Bill Clinton left office 4%

    Unemployment rate when GHW Bush took office 4%
    Unemployment rate when GHW Bush left office 7.8%

    Unemployment rate when Obama took office 7.9%
    Unemployment rate when Obama left office 4.7%

    Unemployment rate when Trump took office 4.7%
    Unemployment rate at this point in Trump's tenure 4.1%

    The republican tax bill was just implemented.
    If the pattern continues as it has for decades their funding and tax bills will drive unemployment up again.

    I'm old enough to remember when the democrats embraced the libertarian principle of skepticism of the military industrial complex and the police state. We were outraged about spying on Americans and virtually warrant-less wiretapping. It really isn't reassuring to see how republicans and democrats flip their scripts depending upon who holds power.

    Trump saying what he says about the press is literally no different than Obama calling out FNC or the correspondent who asked a question he didn't like. It makes good political sense to be indignant towards a media that is indignant towards you. Obama actually took it a step further when his DOJ wiretapped James Rosen, demanded phone records from various correspondents and hacked CBS' Sharyl Atkinson's PC. Much more egregious offenses on that front (AT THIS TIME). The democrats unfortunately stopped giving a crap about an overbearing police state and the republicans began to "evolve."

    Seems before trump the left also had an understanding of Russia that was far less...demonizing. Neocons that called out Russia like ol' McCain were called war mongers. Romney was rebutted by Obama I believe.. Something about the 1980s calling and wanting their foreign policy back. I guess that script's been flipped too.

    Until Mueller comes out with something, I am completely skeptical of the Russia narrative. Trump cannot be both an idiot and an operative capable of the covert machinations required for what you're implying ( a systematic dismantling of federal institutions). I don't even think the idiot thought he would win the election. Occam's Razor, he won the election because his rhetoric favored areas of the electorate that had been disenfranchised - manufacturing, coal, etc - and hillary played up identity politics over the economy plus she was amazingly less trustworthy. It isn't complex, it wasn't Russia hacking our elections. MI, PA, OH, IN, and WI are not KKK holdouts. Those states got him across the finish line. You can complain about pop vote vs electoral college but changing the mode of the system only alters how the game is played - candidates would spend the entirety of their time in areas of dense population. That's the reason for the electoral college to begin with. It's not meant to be a pure democracy, it's suppose to be a republic hence it balances representation of the population with the electoral college.

    It wouldn't take genius to get Congressmen to do your bidding if you were the president.
    The electoral college stuff is nonsense. Trump got lucky.
    The truth is he needed all of the bigots he played to vote.
    If there was nothing to hide Trump wouldn't be trying so hard to undermine the investigation. The most likely worst thing he and his people did was launder money for Russians.

    The fact that our government was powerful enough to offer the two candidates “out of Trump cards” and “Hilarious” on the ballot is the most disturbing thing about all of this.

    The weird aspect of all this is I'm certain we probably have very similar opinions regarding Dubya and I still think trump is an idiot that will end up doing something ****. I just don't think what he's done so far has reached the point of criminality or outrage.

    Trump has been desperate to hide something about his Russia dealings going all the way back to the second campaign debate when he said there was no evidence Russia was behind the campaign interference, since then he's shown his fear in the thousand different ways.
    He has something to hide and it's serious enough to consume him.

    I think you should watch Congressman Trey Gowdy's appearance on Face The Nation yesterday and listen to it from start to finish. He is leaving The House because he doesn't have the stomach for partisan dishonestly. It's his view on the overall investigation I find most refreshing though.
    Be honest with yourself. If he Trump could have gotten away with it he would have fired everybody involved in investigating potential wrong doing by those around him and possibly himself as well. I really think in a situation like Putin has he would have many of them jailed or worse.

    I don't get your post.
    Democrats voted for Hillary and Republicans voted for Trump.
    It wasn't the system that got them on the general election ballot, it was us in the broad sense.
    We have many problems, a huge one is ignorance and laziness of most Americans when it comes to large issues.
    Only in a lazy or desperate country could Trump have gotten where he is, and we're not desperate like Europe was in the 1920s and early 1930s when they allowed despots to think for them.

    I'm with Bojangles here, Trump has been a wonderful breath of fresh air compared to the nasty, corrupt stain that was Obama. Obama was the most divisive and hateful president this great country has ever seen and I would rather spit on him than anything else. MAGA

    I'm with Bojangles here, Trump has been a wonderful breath of fresh air compared to the nasty, corrupt stain that was Obama. Obama was the most divisive and hateful president this great country has ever seen and I would rather spit on him than anything else. MAGA

    Honestly Trump would have destroyed our system of governance by now if not for checks and balances. He's truly in-American.

    Ok, I'll bite.
    We have a POTUS who has called the press, an enemy of America. He sided with a Russian despot dictator who has re-ignited the cold war against our own intelligence services. MANY experts think he is damaging our federal institutions for generations to come. A high level FBI special agent resigned Friday so he can be free to speak up about Trump's war on our institutions.

    This is not Hillary doing self serving things and lying about taking fire in Bosnia or wherever. This is an unprecedented attack on a system we've had in place for close to 250 years.

    None of what I've posted even gets to WHY he is doing these things, but hopefully it will come out.

    The press IS the enemy of the people. At least us patriotic ones. I'm sure the anti-American crowd loves them

    If you're serious with that post, you have no concept of what this country is about...zero.
