Did the Hawks ever consider Dwayne Casey?

BullyDawgBullyDawg ✭✭✭✭ Senior

I know the Hawks were close to their (ultimate) decision to hire Lloyd Pierce, a creer assistant coach, on Friday. But when Toronto Raptors fired Dwane Casey (who'd just been named Coach of the Year 2 days earlier), did the Hawks put on the brakes to even consider him?

Toronto finished the regular season at 59-23, the second-best record in the league behind the Houston Rockets. Casey is a proven winner who posted a 320-238 record in seven seasons with Toronto and is the franchise's winningest coach. His only sin seemed to be that Toronto couldn't get past LeBron James and the Cavs.

Pierce may turn out to be "The Man" for the Hawks in the future. But I would've at least spoken to Casey...
