Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

One needs fewer rules . Then one would have fewer lawyers. Then one would see everything get better.
He can if it’s in an “on field role,” the rule applies to “supplemental/support staff” in off field roles.
(Edit: sorry @Denmen185 , I just saw your reply )
Yes sir @Denmen185 explained that to me earlier. Rule makes more sense now.
He won’t be anymore once he works for UGA. This way we have a guy NOT officially on the staff out doing his thing and pushing kids to UGA. I like where Edwards is.
He doesn’t push kids to UGA. Doesn’t chat recruiting with them, part of the reason he’s so successful.
The last two years haul is a result of a favorable depth chart. 5 exit to NFL, 1 dismissed, left with upperclassmen who wouldn’t be recruited by staff today; these kids look at the situation and see immediate opportunity.
Either way....always good to have him out among them.
If he wants to recruit and wants that grind I’m all for it. Timing is off here for this to happen.
”If” Hankton is out, the replacement will be someone more accomplished, likely has worked in NFL in some capacity, and has worked with QBs in some capacity. Coley remains OC (this has been told to croots) and would likely slide back to WRs. The replacement will likely focus on QB development and assume passing coordinator responsibilities.
So in a sense, wed be looking for our own “Brady” if this all goes down. Again i know it’s unlikely we find an exact carbon copy but something like.
One of the names floating around is the right hand man to Brady. TBD if it’ll be an on field role or analyst.
LSU's 30-yr-old WR coach has a right hand man?
Agree with this soflo.....if there are offensive staff shake ups like has been rumored......I doubt Kirby is looking for a WR coach per say.
I believe he is looking for a coach that is more hands on with the offense.....and is coming here more for his ideas on offensive design than he is to coach a particular position or to recruit.
Some on here are unhappy with Hankton because of WR performance......he may or may not play a significant role in the underperformance of the WR group. None of us are at practice or have any idea what is being taught.
If Hankton is ultimately replaced......it will probably have as much or more to do with needing a spot on the staff for someone that brings more to the table in terms of offensive ideas than it does coaching a particular position group.
Because of their recruiting abilities and other things they bring to the table......Kirby isn't going to replace Coley, Dell or Luke. It would have to be Hartley or Hankton.
It seems that Kirby, and most Dawg fans would agree, would benefit from hiring a QB guru that would become either the passing game or running game coordinator........since improvement in both areas is needed.
Please tell me this isn’t Brian Schottenheimer
@SoFL_Dawg or anyone else with insight, one thing I've never seen really explained is how coaches become aligned with recruits. The point was made that Hankton wasn't the lead recruiter for any of this class's WR haul. That strikes me as unlikely to be a coincidence. It appears as though coaches tend to specialize in particular geographic areas where they have contacts, like Coley with south Florida for example. However, there are plenty of times when those coaches go after recruits well outside their usual area. Just curious as to how these things develop. Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.
It almost sounds like you already know who it is? 😎
Yes.
