@texdawg Thanks for the insight. I had my own beliefs/notions in the college football recruiting table of organization. This lays it all out much more clearly as to the "how it works" behind the scenes. @Ugadawg1993 WOW!!!! I certainly hope that Texas "insider" is correct with his/her "crystal ball" regarding the #1 rated 5 star RB, Zack Evans. Can you just imagine the UGA RB's room, combined with the OL Coach Sam Pittman's "Great Wall of Georgia"???? GOSH DANG!!!! GO DAWGS!!!
My feeling is that Gilbert would have committed to UGA if he was going too by now. Not sure where it will end up but it won’t be at UGA. He doesn’t want to block which is the way we use a tight end.
He fits that system well. He’d do great there
Yep. As much as people have been wanting Gilbert.....he hasn’t really been wanting to be a TE. That’s a problem. There are 2 good TEs in Washington/Theo that would be a better fit just due to avoiding drama plus team chemistry.
I hope he realizes that at some point he will have to block as it is inherent in his position. Now, he could be the receiving TE as long as he is happy being the #2 TE on the team. I could see him utilized in two TE sets and in red zone two TE sets, but he wouldn't be the #1 as that person would need to block and block well. If he isn't happy with that, then he would need another team to sell him the lie that they will utilize him as a WR.
He might want to take a look at all the great receiving TEs in NFL history and current...... They block.
@Wintonk Amen.
Hartley seems to be hinting through Tweets that both Gilbert and Washington are Georgia bound.
Ya know, in a totally un-ironic way, I'm going to ask if anyone has any news on one Kelee Ringo?
I'm guessing all these kids are busy with getting back into football and school but I hope one of our favorite hopefully future and possibly silent commits is still feeling the love from Dawgnation! 😎
Interest from Ricks is nice and all but it's still gonna be a big day(and bump to the comp score) when he decides. I don't follow kids on Twitter but hopefully he's still feelin the Dawgs. His mom as well. 😀
I'm assuming he means DW and Theo.
I don’t think they’re the same type of kid BUT I think the situations are similar between Gilbert and Haselwood: instate kids who everyone kinda expect to stay home who seemingly are looking for lots of reasons not to.
Yeah Haselwood was committed but all last year it was: “I want to see how much they throw” and not a lot of public interest. Gilbert has said he wants to see how the TEs are used this year and now wants to play WR and shows interest everywhere BUT Georgia.
Point being, and in no way are they wrong for wanting the best fit for themselves, sometimes the instate pull fights with the desire to do their own thing and leads these guys elsewhere OR can lead to unhappiness like with our various high rated transfers.
Washington seems to want to be here. I get the feeling that Gilbert is fighting it and might not be happy if he DID sign. JMO.
Can someone tell me where the term "processing" comes from?
The processes of getting someone removed from a class or team. Creating room for someone new.
Also known as Billy Bobbing
1530s, "begin legal action against," from Middle French processer "to prosecute," from proces (see process (n.)). Meaning "prepare by special process" is from 1881, from the noun in English. Of persons, "to register and examine," by 1935. Related: Processed; processing.
