Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Yep, they picked up J. Christ OT that flipped from UVA. He was the mystery recruit.
Thanks for that.
I considered this, too.
At some point, the line between “healthy competition is good” and “I can start no later than Sophomore year based on how crowded the QB room is” is crossed and a QB in demand the way Williams is looks elsewhere.
For this reason - whether Georgia can win a national championship this year or not has such a massive impact on all of these what-ifs.
Not to get too binary, but two scenarios to ponder:
I know Pre-season sentiment was that Fromm leaving after this season was automatic, but really wonder if that’s ultimately the case if this team doesn’t win it all this season (or come close to it)
PS - all bets are off if Belichick reaches out to the Fromm camp through backchannels to let him know he’s their guy...if word out of Foxborough that staff is not convinced Stidham is a long-term option is true
Reminds me of another notable Texas native RB who had generational talent but did NOT love football (Ricky Williams)...football wasn’t his #1 passion but still dominated in college. Wasn’t until he turned pro that “everything else” took on a higher priority in his grand scheme of things and his relative prioritization became an issue/impacted his play.
Then there’s a school of thought that being exposed to the right people (coaches, veteran leaders, etc) serves as the catalyst a young man needs to spark that next stage of his evolution into adulthood. Hoping he experiences that wherever he ends up.
What?
Jake Fromm picked to be the heir to the greatest football player of all time?
Hahahahaha.
Nah. If he visits UGA it’ll be next weekend for an Official. Feeling like he may not reach that point though..
Crazy notion I know...fact remains that Brady is acting/talking very much like a player who is orchestrating the next chapter of his story.
Truth be told, Garoppollo would be starting this weekend vs Philly if Belichick got his way two years ago/had Kraft not interceded. He went 11-5 with Matt Cassel the year Brady was injured, he puts a premium on thinking players and would love nothing more than getting a starting QB/heir apparent to Brady for anything lower than 1st round guaranteed $
Move this convo somewhere else
Jake Fromm is not gonna be a good NFL QB. He’s a college QB whose game won’t translate at next level.
Start a new thread
no worries - i didn't start the topic though. should have let it go. my apologies.
Fromm has an incredible football IQ which is very important for a NFL QB and in the right system he could be a great quarterback
OK - independent of Fromm’s prospects/potential landing spots post-UGA...I’d argue that the better sequence for long-term sustainable playoff contention year after year without having to dramatically overhaul offensive play calling would be a combo of Beck + competition (Fromm stays or a grad transfer if Fromm goes pro after this year) followed by Stockton. I’d prefer this over Williams who is more dual threat than pro style a la Fromm, Beck and Stockton
Respect my decision
What??? Oh come on @Kasey!!! I was trying to sleep until he committed. I can't take the suspense.
To misquote a song, wake me up when December ends.
