2007 UF captain charged with wife’s murder
Thought this deserved its own post. UF just locked up the CrimeU title.

seemed like there was more focus on him being gator and playing for ole Urb instead of the girl that was murdered.
That’s two people that are malice murderers from separate incidents on one timeframe on one team. It’s news worthy because I’m not sure that’s ever happened.
Only team I can think of that it might have happened is the team Burt Reynolds QB'd for in The Longest Yard.
Top one percent of one percent.....
Urban's legacy lives on. Hmm, no mention of cookware...
Riley Cooper was a Gator receiver who played for the Philly Eagles. He was a main subject for a long time with the local news. Thanks to cell phones, he was recorded with a racist slur during a confrontation over concert tickets.
Geeze.... it almost seems like it would be hard to get that many criminals on one team. Did Teebo **** all goodness out of people around him or something?
I don't want to make light of this because somebody was murdered but you throw Brandon Spikes into that mix and you're right on the money.
Really unfortunate for all involved INCLUDING the ALLEGED perp if indeed he's found to b guilty of the crime in which he's been charged. I remember Tony Joiner, was a pretty good player on some really good Fla teams. Here is hoping that Justice is served in this case.
This is very sad. Not surprising at all given all the history surrounding the Florida Gators program over the years, and all of the jokes made. But this? It's horrible. Just sad for the life that was taken.
Yeah, I hope nobody thinks I was making light of the situation. When the statement was made that I replied to, I could only think of a made up Hollywood movie that would come close to that happening. Guess the statement, 'you couldn't make this stuff up', applied here. Very sad.
I don't think Kirby will EVER have this issue at Georgia because of the way he connects with youngsters. I honestly believe Kirby's players feel a sort of kinship with the young hard nosed HC and will heed his example about doing things the right way on and off the field to include their lives after Football. Nope, Kirby ain't raising no murderers and neither did "Notorious Good Guy" Richt.
I didn't mean to imply you were making fun of it, your post just made me think of other Florida players that have inappropriately violent tendencies. Ealy could've had his vision seriously damaged by what Spikes did in that pile.
@GeoffDawg . I know. I didn't think you were implying that, but it had me wondering if maybe somebody might take it the wrong way. Cheers.
