Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

My view ^^ +/- as well. I didn't vote in part due to how the poll was worded. Yes is acceptable for YOU, but not for me. No is my view, but I have no right to judge you on this matter. But if you are a UGA grad (or attended), then by all means, say We. Same for those buying season tickets and attending; going shirtless with red and black body paint, face paint or wig; and ladies with that little bulldog face decal or lighted UGA footwear. The rest of you saying We - meh!
I thought about this recently (co-incidence or argle-bargle?) and wondered when I would be called out for not using a We. The OP is a GREAT RELIEF! I am not alone!!
I think Coach Smart is totally cool with those that love Georgia saying WE. ESPECIALLY those of us that was born and raised here although I think he was born in Mobile, Alabama though I could certainly b wrong about his birthplace. I think I read it somewhere.
I simply use “we” because I have put a lot of emotions into the Dawgs for many years, celebrating in victories and anger in defeat. My wife asks me “What time do your Dawgs play?” because she knows that my full attention will not be given to anything while they are playing. So with what I invest personally, I feel that “we” is just fine.
I say no but its because Ive actually become a part owner of the Green Bay Packers and it was brought to my attention that you shouldn't claim what you dont own talking about the other teams I like. But I love UGA (and other teams but dont say we sadly).
If you're one of those people that police how people relate to and refer to their favorite sports team, you're a dork.
I may understand the opposite point of view, but I don't buy it.
The only reason we win so many games is because I always wear my lucky game day aftershave. I take full credit for the victories and blame myself when we lose.
I don't think I typically use the term we but I certainly don't think it's odd for someone who didn't go to the school to use the term. That's our team. Say WE if you want.
I'd say I normally use them.
Just a quick point, this is sort of a ridiculous thread. I mean, acceptable to who ? Free your mind.
"We" supply the funding to the program. Without us, they would not even have a team much less a coach, facilities, meal plans etc.
Take away Kirby and UGA still plays football. Take away Jake Fromm and they still play football. Take away the "we" as the OP is referring and there is nothing. In this sense, the "we" may even be the most important piece of the group.
I suppose it depends, as JoelSidneyKelley pointed out perfectly. But we will never be incorrect or absurd if we just don’t do it.
I usually say “OUR DAWGS” but when the DAWGS won the rose bowl I started chanting “We’re going to the ship”
I did say no but I dont judge anyone whi does unless you're a LeBron fan lol. 🙄
A lot of viewpoints out there is "I attended the school so I can say "we"." I never planned to go to college and didn't try very hard in school but my parents asked me to do one year of school before I joined the military. Both the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were in full swing thing so they were nervous. Anyways I went to Gainesville College at Oconee Campus and for the old timers I couldn't do it so I Truett. Lived the college life for a year in Athens. After that year I went to the Air Force. Does this disqualify me from using "We"? I rep the team at every chance and have worn my Red Georgia hat in over 23 different countries. I stay up all hours of the night to watch the games live from overseas and I argue with all the other SEC team fans i encounter worldwide. A lot of Georgia residents would love to go to UGA but can't get in due to academic standards. Just doesn't seem right that we (the ones who couldn't get in) can't feel a bond with the school because we couldn't get in.
As much money as "we" have pumped into that bottomless pit of a University over the years....you dam right it's "we"!
Couldn't resist.
