Georgia football fans crave a national championship, and this season might be the year their wait comes to an end. However, the first step toward making that happen is for UGA coach Kirby Smart to lead the Bulldogs to a third-straight SEC East title.      It depends on whether or not Kirby made the right decisions as a hc. Did he hire the right personnel, did he play the right players and is his approach in developing players the right approach? I think he will be judged on some of those things and certainly when it comes to the qb position. As a fan, I have no idea what would have happened had Jacob Eason retained his position or if Justin Fields is a once in a life time type player but I do know that a national championship victory will put to rest any of those questions no matter what, so I'm pulling for Kirby to deliver in year four.

I can’t agree with your choice of words Brandon. The Dawg fan base didn’t grow tired of waiting, we grew tired of knowing on any given Saturday we might lose to an inferior opponent because they weren’t prepared for the game. We grew tired of hearing the same old rhetoric of how well they played when we as fans knew they weren’t motivated enough and properly prepared to win the game. We grew tired of the coaching staff taking their foot off the pedal and almost snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory. We grew tired of blind loyalty to players and coaches alike. Maybe we’re both saying the same thing but I just see it differently than what I read. Go Dawgs!

Kirby seems to have UGA on a good path, he just needs to evolve a little bit as a game day coach. A two score lead in the third quarter is not enough to shut the offense down, especially against an elite team. He's done it twice in a row against Alabama, let's hope he has learned from that. UGA is very close, just a little bit better game day coaching will probably deliver that NC that folks have been waiting on for so long now.
