Our thoughts and prayers are with you brother Dawg. Your child is in God’s hands!
Prayers up for you and your family, @BoroDawg. May God grant you many healthy and happy days with your son.
Hoping for the best. Is your son in the NICU in Savannah?
Well said. Prayers sent to you and your family my friend.
Prayers up to you and your family, @BoroDawg...we’ll pray for a full recovery and that you will all be home together soon. Be strong for your whole family right now, they need it. Philippians 4:13
@BoroDawg, I shared my story of losing 2 sons and my one son (now 13) almost passing away at 2 weeks old. I won’t type the scenarios out for a tldr. Even losing 2 kids, I can still say with extreme confidence = “Believe in the power of prayer.” My prayers are with you and your family. Hang in there my Dawg friend.
I can tell you this – my son of today is the most important thing in my life – period! And one of the very strongest influences in our relationship is the love we have for the Georgia Bulldogs! I do hope you find this as an inspiration, that is the purpose. March on my friend and put your trust and belief in God!
God Bless!
@BoroDawg I am sorry to read y’all are experiencing this. Hang in there my man. I really don’t have much to offer.
Not trying even get close to comparing situations and they seem vastly different, but my son was born over 2 1/2 months early. Spent forever in the NICU because of complications.
I learned two things.... kids are tougher than me because I was a wreck inside and I needed to be tougher for my wife during this time. My boy is great now and I for darn sure hope you have the same outcome!
Again, hang in there my man!! It’s going to work out.
Thank you for sharing. You, your wife and son are in my prayers for comfort and full healing.
God bless you and your family BoroDawg. Prayers sent for a full and quick recovery for your precious son along with God’s strength and comfort for you and you wife during this stressful time.
Just saw this @BoroDawg . Wow, wishing you and your family all the best and hope that you and your boy someday soon can enjoy a game together. Love to you and your family from this Dawg family.
I appreciate the prayers and outpouring of love. I 100% believe in the power of prayer and we serve an awesome God. Yes, We’re in the NICU at Memorial in Savannah. Interesting story to show that God is in full control: My wife’s great grandfather was close friends with Percival Randolph Cohen of Savannah. In 1912, Mr. Cohen paid him a handsome sum to name his first born son after him since he didn’t have any family and wanted his name to live on. He obliged and named him Percival Randolph Cohen Anderson. My father-in-law is his Jr. Mr. Cohen passed away in the 30s and he donated his estate to build Cohen’s Retreat for older men to live out the rest of their lives instead of being alone. It’s since been turned into a little vacation resort, with restaurants and shops. When the new owner heard that we were here, she reached out to us and offered two cottages to us for free for my family and I to stay in while we wait for little Anderson to be healed in the NICU. We are very blessed and thankful. It has come full circle and you can’t make this stuff up.
Me @Kasey asked why I downvoted the OP (did I mean to DV and later, why). DV this at will, but don’t mark it as off-topic as it is on topic.
So, why:
1. Perspective A. Don’t need anyone to remind me that in the grand scheme of things UGA football doesn’t matter “At all” as the OP says. This is a diversion, a luxury, an indulgence, and a pleasure. No connect to things that truly matter.
2. Perspective B. This forum is about UGA football (mainly), so don’t need ‘real life’ to take away from it. The true perspective everyone should take is that this forum is to foster an appreciation of UGA football, and UGA sports, generally. OP said he debated posting it. Should have stuck with his doubt.
3. Perspective C. What if everyone used the forum to express their gut-wrenching problems they have in life? What would the forum look like then?
4. Veracity. I exposed a stolen valor nut within my first few months here. Some were wringing their hands over his tale of owe. Not saying that OP is making it up, but no one knows.
5. Freedom to be oneself. Based on the title, I read it. I could have ignored it or pretended the OP didn’t bother me, but having read it, I gave it my true reaction. Had it been titled, “My son is fighting for his life” I probably wouldn’t have read it, but if I did, I might still have DV’d it, if OP linked it to the “perspective” we should take.
6. (Bonus) DV don’t matter. They are useful, as I’ve said before, in allowing members to express to an OP and other readers, that someone doesn’t buy what the OP is selling (without taking the time to express it in a comment – some things aren’t worth a comment) ← been covered before.
My wife works in the NICU in Orange Park, FL. I know she looks after each child that is in the NICU as if they are her own and her peers do the same as well. There have been numerous times people come up to her in public and hug her and show off a baby and I am told after that she had taken care of their baby in the hospital. It is comforting to know that there are people out there that you can count on when needed. Another thing that can be counted on is during UGA/UF week she wears the red and black!!!
God bless the you and your family BORO . Sending love and prayers your way.
You’re the worst kind of person
