Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Staying at Airbnb in Amelia Wed- Sun
Playing Amelia River GC Friday am
It’s been 10 years since my last trip to Amelia for WLOCP. Got any suggestions? Food, bars, live music, parties, etc?
Anyone else headed to Amelia?

Food:
Salty Pelican - crab dip appetizer (every entree I’ve had is good)
Timoti’s - Fried Shrimp basket or Catch of the Day Sandwich (blackened)
Bar:
Palace Saloon - Pirate lunch for the ladies
Hammerheads - pool tables/dive bar (mainly locals)
Live Music at most restaurants (Surf, Sliders, etc)
Have friends that live on Amelia- played golf at Amelia River many times. You will enjoy the course. Beware of the gators in the lagoons.
All downtown Fernandina:
Salty Pelican - sit upstairs for good view of marina/ water
Arte’s- great pizza
Timotis- awesome fish tacos. Mostly outside seating and small, but one of my favorite lunch spots.
Tastys - awesome burgers.
Karibo - Same owner as Timotis, eclectic menu
29 South - a little more upscale, great dinner spot.
2nd Tasty’s. Lagniappe is very good. Waterwheel is a great cigar shop/ lounge if you incline that way. Avoid like the plague the Parkway Grill; several years after a horrid breakfast experience, I tried them again recently. Blechhh! Have fun!
'Avoid like the plague the Parkway Grill'
Vegan?
Cantina Louie's is good if you like mexican. Karibou - highly recommend the I-10 Intuition beer and the Turkey cuban. I live in Fernandina
It's been a while, but BarZin, Salt, and 29 South are among the top options.
If you're staying at the plantation, PLaE (People Laughing and Eating) is perfectly good.
Aside from food options, Fantastic Fudge in downtown Fernandina is pretty awesome. The Book Loft is a cool book store. And Fort Clinch is well worth a visit.
Now we are talking. Thanks
I seem to remember a Friday night pep-rally beach bonfire back around 2004. Anyone have any details? Maybe the Omni or Ritz put it on
No
Got a reservation at 29South Friday.
Golf fell thru so we gotta play the Municipal course.
What are your Amelia plans?
Wife and I will be dressed as Walter White and Sklyer Thursday night.
Does Amelia still smell like a rotten egg? I always thought the paper plant ruined the place.
In my experience it only smelled that way upon arrival, when you crossed the bridge. I never noticed it once I was there to stay.
Same reason the crazy cat lady doesn’t know her house stinks.
I’ve never noticed a smell.
Maybe it was something other than Amelia Island @Bankwalker.
