Georgia football DB Richard LeCounte: ''It isn't a surprise being 3-0 against Florida'
ATHENS — Beating Florida has always meant a lot to Georgia safety Richard LeCounte. Prior to his time at Georgia, he announced the Bulldogs would beat Florida in back-to-back years while dressed as Santa. At the time of the announcement, Georgia was going through a three-game losing streak against the Gators. But

3 straight over the goobers!
GO DAWGS! KEEP ON DAWGIN'!
I dont see where anyone should be suprised. I mean the spread was 5.5-6... we win by 7.... Yes the majority of blogger (media) pickers chose UF which suprised me given the line but nothing really suprises me with the noise from them. Of course today they are all saying what a hudge big win it was. Yes it is always good to beat your #1 rival and the neutral site game hype and all,, but we really just covered the spread by a point. Exactly what was expected. They were favored in the laast two games as well.... Whats the story here other than LaCounte really shouldnt be bragging and providing BBoard material for the future. GO DAWGS!
If I'm not mistaken, LeCounte has a distant relative (cousin or uncle) who was a starting QB and/or WR at Florida a few decades ago. So maybe that intra-family deal is going on, too. Whatever. Keep it up. Go Dawgs!
I haven't seen that much criticism against the players, The criticism i have seen has been directed against the coaches and rightfully so. As usual Kirby is complaining about the fans criticizing the fans and doesn't mention the coaches who are getting the brunt of it as if they are innocent bystanders. Maybe he should read the press!!!!!
If there is one person who shouldn't be chatting it is LeCount. What happened to the extra muscle he put on and his focus. I don't see any difference from last year. I have seen his # following opposing player as they are catching passes behind him and watching him whiff on tackles.
CEPH and GBAL —- loosen up and celebrate a great win over an excellent Florida team! Come on now!!
Lecounte is one of my favorites. Reportedly, there is no player Kirby rides harder. Richard relishes the coaching knowing Kirby only wants to make him better.
Do you mean the coaches that had enough sense not to try to throw the ball in a monsoon with tropical storm winds when KY's only hope was turnovers? Or, maybe you mean the coaches that teach ball security to RBs that fumble less than any team in the country. Or maybe your complaining about the coaches that teach tackling fundamentals that get QBs and RBs to the ground with hard, legal hits without concern for targeting fouls. Or, the coaches that coach the OL that ensures Jake has the cleanest jersey on the field against one of the best rated defenses in the country. Coaches coach! Complainers complain!
Not sure what or who Ceph has been watching Richard is 4th on the team in tackles Has a fumble recovery and an interception and broke up several passes along the way including a pretty big play this past Saturday His tackling has improved considerably from last year although he did lead the team last year He also has delivered some serious licks on some people this year Playing safety you are in the spotlight a lot of times and occasionally get burnt It happens to all of them sometimes Keep it up Richard Most real Dawg fans are glad you are on our side
I get your point totally and I’m there with you, but do you think Florida players would have been so nice if they beat us?
That's why LeCounte will always be one of the most beloved Dawgs. He has been a leader and the heart of his class since before he was even at Georgia. He bought into Kirby's vision before it was proven. He busts his butt and he is a Gator Hater. That's what it means to be a Bulldog.
