- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Kicken Chicken is my kryptonite.
Funny story about Zax, the 1st one (or at least one of the 1st ones) was in a parking lot in Statesboro GA. A little shack right in the middle of a little s t r i p mall. I lived right down the road in Players Club apartments my freshmen year. My check book register read like this.
Players club $300
Zax $5
Zax $5
Zax $5
Zax $5
Zax $5
Zax $5
Zax $5
Zax $5
..... x30 times until the rent was due again.
Also, it was originally called Zax, not Zaxby's. Thus it's why I still call it Zax. Old Dawg, new tricks, etc.
I remember my first visit to Zaxby's in Athens but honestly, I was always more of a Guthrie's man. Or the gut-box if you prefer.
I honestly couldn't ever tell the difference. Is Guthrie's still around?
I think so? Not totally sure.
Guthrie's had more of a congealed grease flavor which at that age, I guess I liked. Probably the influence of eating Gumby's pizza.
Maybe it's just ATL life but Chick-fil-a's usually have a line wrapped around the entire place.
Don't get me started on in NYC
And CFA can still get you through the drive through line in about 10 min. Popeyes would take 45 min.
Of course, they're like that everywhere but their hiring practices are a little more stringent so the line moves a lot faster...
Which Publix are you talking about? I'm near Chattanooga and may need to give it a visit.
Checkbook.....lol do people still have those?
North Market Street (Northshore)
Well.... I didn't exactly say when that was you whipper snapper.
A - can't stand HICK-Fill-A....would rather have Zaxby's.
B - Had a horrible experience with Popeye's Monday night. Roommate ordered via the app & the staff @ the store didn't even know how to take those orders. Then they kept shifting us from 1 side of the store to the other. We had to wait 90 mins. to get our food while people came, waited forever in line, got their food & left. On top of that, said they didn't carry stuff we ordered (which was on the menu behind them). 1 sandwich was plain & the other was spicy; didn't get the chicken nuggets we ordered, the 2 biscuits, the 2 drinks, nor the apple pie. Also, they ran out of food 3X while we were there & had to cook more (instead of waiting making more before they were all gone).
On top of all that, weren't even refunded for the stuff we didn't get.
If you're wasting 90 minutes at Popeye's because you hate Chick Fil A, you may need to reflect upon your life choices.
What the he!! is wrong with people?
That was a brutal slam. What’s the saying... cash the checks your mouth is writing or maybe it’s your mouth is like a check into cash... frick... I don’t know... just don’t run your mouth
OT warning:
I can still remember the last time I wrote a check at the grocery store, roughly 10 years ago, and I could feel the hate emanating from the cashier and the other people in line. I had written checks at the grocery store my whole life, as had everyone else, but it changed at some point, and I got the memo that day.
Had a similar experience the first time I was in the car with someone who paid with a credit card at the drive thru window of a fast food place. Again, roughly 10 years ago. And I thought, wait, do people really do that? For the longest time everyone paid cash in a drive thru. You used a credit card to buy a new home stereo system, not a cheeseburger.
Now that I've caught up to the times and use a credit card for everything, even a $2 cup of coffee, it appears that credit cards are about to be replaced by Venmo and other virtual payment systems. Oh well.
As for chicken, I've never been to a Popeye's and doubt I ever will. I'm a fan of CFA, Zaxby's, and Guthrie's (back in my Athens days), but nothing was better than mom's.
