WATCH: Georgia's Tyler Simmons overcomes adversity, providing textbook examples of leadership and resilience
Georgia WR Tyler Simmons hasn't allowed adversity to discourage him and has continued to lead and stay focused on helping his team achieve its goals

Simmons is a tough hombre. The Dawgs need him and the rest of the receivers to step up and make Auburn pay for crowding the LOS.
I’m sure Tyler Simmons is a fine young man and will be successful in life after football. However, he has had quite a few drops and some in critical situations. The S.C. game comes to mind. Hope he can step up his game. We need him now more than ever. Go Dawgs!
I hope Mr. Simmons is not remembered for the muffed punt return to give Tennessee the ball on our 5 or the dropped (perfect) pass that cost us the SC game. He will have that moment of redemption in an important game before the season is over.
Just a suggestion, with all respect: What kids, like George Pickens only as an example, don't get yet is that - more than talk and all that brash and brass with DBs will ever do - the most powerful weapon to get in an opponents head is to whip them and live in the silence of domination. UGA players might want to go back and look at Herschel. LB slams into him, he bounces up, hands the ball the referee and trots back to the huddle. No smack, no attitude, no dancing around saying "Ohh-wah, look at me." Just stay within yourself and go beat them, again, on the next play, and the next, and the next. The unspoken message is: You (defensive player) aren't really relevant. I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do and I don't even know your name. BELIEVE ME: this will get in their head FAR faster than a "look at me" whoop whoop moment. Be smart - beat them physically and then beat them mentally by letting them know, I'm better than you - without saying a word. Just a suggestion. But it works. Believe me.
I believe you mean Simmons' muffed point against Notre Dame @Dawg365 . (Clearly, I haven't forgotten it). I, too, hope Simmons is remembered for more (and hopefully better) things than those two plays, too, but without saying it out loud, that's kind of the focus of this article. The real reason that it's written from the standpoint of him pushing past diversity, is because of those two plays. Instead of them being able to write about how he's having a breakout senior season (see Lawrence Cager), the writer had to come up with this. I like Tyler Simmons but as I've said before, I believe he is about the most under-performing Bulldog so far this season (based on pre-season expectations), and that's extremely disappointing and baffling to me. His shoulder may be hurting, but I don't see how that affects his supposedly "elite" speed, and why he never seems to be open. I can appreciate that he's a good team leader and helps some of the younger guys. That's great. But I think the coaches, his teammates and us fans were expecting more from him this year. Maybe we'll see it this weekend at Auburn. Go Dawgs!
Tyler "brick hands" Simmons is a good guy and will have a successful career outside of football. However, I'll just call it how it is... he's been a bust his whole Georgia career. Period.
Pay attention to more of the game than just watching where the football goes. He has had some crucial mistakes, but he does a lot that goes unnoticed by casual football fans.
The Auburn game will reveal much about where Tyler and other UGA wannabe's stand as far as team contribution. This game will actually force the best from their touted talents. I have been to many Auburn-UGA tilts and they are savage...to be blunt. Auburn fans din can be heard over in Mississippi....lolol. This is a game that rivals Florida!!!! I was photographer for the team and things can really get ****. Listening to the coaches in the booth and on the field gives one a whole different perspective. Just sharing. It will be a turf war! The Dawgs will prevail. GO DAWGS!
...leadership, resilience, and butterfingers...
